{"id":413768,"date":"2026-04-23T16:59:12","date_gmt":"2026-04-23T16:59:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/413768\/"},"modified":"2026-04-23T16:59:12","modified_gmt":"2026-04-23T16:59:12","slug":"limerick-girl-16-appears-in-court-via-video-link-over-assault-on-scarlett-faulkner","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/413768\/","title":{"rendered":"Limerick girl, 16, appears in court, via video-link, over assault on Scarlett Faulkner"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A WOMAN and teenage girl from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.limerickleader.ie\/limerickleader.ie\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Limerick<\/a> have appeared in court via video-link this Thursday in connection with the serious assault on Scarlett Faulkner last month.<\/p>\n<p>The accused girl, aged 16, is charged with assault causing serious harm to Ms Faulkner, aged 29, at the R494 Birdhill, County Tipperary, on Saturday, March 21.<\/p>\n<p>The girl appeared before Nenagh District Court this Thursday morning via video-link from a youth detention centre.<\/p>\n<p>She did not speak other than to indicate that she could hear and see the proceedings.<\/p>\n<p>The girl\u2019s solicitor, Turlough Herbert, indicated that a psychological assessment of the girl was being scheduled while she was being detained on remand.<\/p>\n<p>READ NEXT:\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.limerickleader.ie\/news\/breaking-news\/2049938\/live-girl-16-charged-with-assaulting-scarlett-faulkner-laughed-when-shown-photo-of-limerick-mum.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Girl, 16, charged with assaulting Scarlett Faulkner &#8216;laughed when shown photo&#8217; of Limerick mum<\/a><\/p>\n<p>A female co-accused, aged in her 40s, also appeared before the court via video-link from Limerick Prison.<\/p>\n<p>She is charged with reckless endangerment, violent disorder, and two counts of burglary.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The woman, who was represented in court by solicitor Pauric Nesbitt, spoke only to confirm she could hear and see the proceedings.<\/p>\n<p>Neither accused can be named because of reporting restrictions imposed by Judge Carol Anne Coolican in Limerick District Court last month.<\/p>\n<p>This Thursday, Judge Fiona Brennan granted an application by prosecuting garda\u00ed for a four-week adjournment.
