\n\tFans couldn\u2019t contain their excitement seeing Jisoo<\/a> at Canneseries<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\n\tK-pop star picked up the Madame Figaro Rising Star Award during the opening ceremony of the French TV festival to the sound of joyful screams from the crowd.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cI wanted to show you a new side of me through different projects, and I\u2019m really happy to receive such an award that represents your support,\u201d she said.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cI learned new things through these projects, and I received a lot of help from many people. I think all this encouragement gave me strength to take one more step forward.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tA member of girl band Blackpink<\/a> \u2013 she released her solo EP\u00a0\u201cAmortage\u201d last year \u2013 Jisoo acted in series \u201cSnowdrop,\u201d \u201cNewtopia\u201d and Netflix\u2019s \u201cBoyfriend on Demand.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tVisibly moved, she thanked her fans for their \u201cunwavering love and support.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cI will never forget the gratitude you gave me, and I will do my best to show you a better side of me. Thank you. I hope that everyone here tonight will have an unforgettable moment.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tMadame Figaro\u2019s Richard Gianorio said: \u201cShe\u2019s not a newcomer \u2013 she\u2019s a star. A pop star adored by millions of fans,\u201d whose cultural influence goes beyond music. He observed that Jisoo rather quickly left her musical \u201ccomfort zone,\u201d ready to conquer other territories as well.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cIn 2021, she made her leading acting debut in \u2018Snowdrop,\u2019 and that series gained immediate recognition,\u201d he recalled. \u201cTonight, we are celebrating a young woman who had the courage to reinvent herself \u2013 and did so very successfully.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tJisoo wasn\u2019t the only person awarded that evening, with \u201cBaby Reindeer\u201d creator Richard Gadd accepting the Konbini Commitment Award ahead of the screening of \u201cHalf Man.\u201d Earlier that day, Gadd had discussed his new show<\/a>, in which he stars alongside Jamie Bell.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cWhenever I start a new project, I don\u2019t set out to break new ground or push the boundaries, I just call life how I see it. Which, for me, has always been full of difficulty and challenge. The world is in crisis at the moment, and there are many people out there who feel scared and confused. It\u2019s our duty to reflect these struggles on screen.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n\tIn the past, when he was experiencing \u201cunbearable pain,\u201d he couldn\u2019t find anything that mirrored what he was going through.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cAnd I really needed to hear that back then,\u201d he said, urging commissioners to \u201cpush boundaries, take risks and to tell stories that aren\u2019t necessarily comfortable but need to be heard.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cIn these days of mass consumption and geopolitical uncertainty, now more than ever we need shows that speak to real life.\u201d<\/p>\n
