A man and a woman have been arrested after two garda\u00ed were hospitalised following an alleged assault in Letterkenny, Co Donegal, on Thursday.<\/p>\n
The assault took place after garda\u00ed received a call to attend a premises on Neil T. Blaney Road in the town at around 3pm.<\/p>\n
The two male garda\u00ed attended the scene, where they were assaulted by a man in his 30s.<\/p>\n
The man and woman, who is also in her 30s, were detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984 in a Garda station in the Donegal division.<\/p>\n
Both garda\u00ed received treatment in hospital for injuries received during the incident.<\/p>\n
They have since been discharged.<\/p>\n
An Garda S\u00edoch\u00e1na is providing peer support to the injured members, a garda statement said.<\/p>\n
The man remains in custody, but the woman has been released and charged in connection with the investigation.<\/p>\n
She is due to appear before Letterkenny District Court on Monday, May 11th.<\/p>\n
