\n\tFamously secretive star Jisoo<\/a> \u2013 known as a member of Blackpink<\/a> \u2013 met with journalists after receiving the Madame Figaro Rising Star Award<\/a> at Canneseries<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cIt was my first time at Cannes alone. Still, I was able to feel the significance of the Pink Carpet. The name itself has a special meaning for me,\u201d she smiled.<\/p>\n

\n\tAlthough the meeting was brief, there was a buzz of excitement in the room, with local journalists waiting for her entrance with phones already up in the air and photos to sign.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cSo many fans who came to congratulate me. Some of them came from Paris and some came from all over the world. I will remember it for a long time,\u201d she said, recalling the opening night, when her speech was frequently interrupted by screaming fans who clearly couldn\u2019t believe their luck.<\/p>\n

\n\tWhile she has already proven herself to be a capable solo artist, releasing a duet with Zayn Malik called \u201cEyes Closed<\/a>\u201d in 2025, Jisoo intends to continue acting after appearing in such shows as \u201cSnowdrop,\u201d \u201cNewtopia, films \u201cDr. Cheon and the Lost Talisman,\u201d \u201cOmniscient Reader: The Prophecy\u201d and Netflix<\/a> series \u201cBoyfriend on Demand<\/a>,\u201d which premiered in March.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n\tIn the latter, she plays Mi-rae, a webtoon producer worn out by her daily grind, who escapes into a subscription-based virtual dating simulation program promising the dates of her dreams. Its director, Kim Jung-sik, told\u00a0Variety<\/a>\u00a0that he focused mostly on \u201cportraying the many charms Jisoo has in the most versatile way possible. To do this, I used different occupations and added subtle variations to her character in the virtual world so that her acting style would feel distinct from Mi-rae in reality.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tAsked what role she would like to play next, Jisoo replied: \u201cI would like to play a variety of roles to satisfy the audience. I am actually looking forward to it.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tHow did she feel when she first heard that she was going to receive the Rising Star Award?<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cI was very surprised.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tPreviously, it went to Daisy Edgar-Jones, \u201cBridgerton\u201d breakout Phoebe Dynevor, Sydney Sweeney or \u201cFallout\u201d star Ella Purnell.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n\tJisoo was \u201cgrateful and honored\u201d to be mentioned alongside them.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cThe name of the award refers to a \u2018rising star,\u2019 so it makes me want to show a new side of myself. It makes me want to work harder. It\u2019s a great honor, also for my fans who have always supported me.\u201d<\/p>\n
