\u2018Through an Irish Lens,\u2019 the latest exhibition of photographs by the Edgeworthstown<\/a> Library Photography Club, is set to launch on May 5 at 5.30pm in the Longford Library.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

Showcasing images of Irish life, the stunning exhibition is free and open to the public.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

Following the official launch of the exhibition on May 5, attendees can enjoy a photo walk along the Mall at 6.30pm which is also open to members of the public.<\/p>\n

Cathaoirleach of Longford County Council<\/a>, Cllr Garry Murtagh, said the exhibition is proof that art \u201cis not the preserve of galleries in capital cities.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

He said, \u201cEdgeworthstown’s photographers have found something worth seeing in the ordinary everyday reality of Irish life. I am proud that Longford County Council can give their work the platform it deserves.”<\/p>\n

Chief Executive of Longford County Council Paddy Mahon added, “The Creative Ireland programme exists precisely for projects like this one – where community comes together to celebrate their creativity and skill. I would urge members of the public to take the time to come and visit this exhibition from the Edgeworthstown Library Photography Club<\/a>.”<\/p>\n

The exhibition will run from Tuesday, May 5 until Friday, May 16.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

Founded in February 2024, The Edgeworthstown Library Photography Club brings together a wide range of photographers, from those with a smartphone camera to those working with professional-grade DSLR equipment.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

The club meets on the first Tuesday of each month, from 6:30pm to 7:45pm. New members – at any level of experience – are always welcome.<\/p>\n
