{"id":416871,"date":"2026-04-25T12:56:10","date_gmt":"2026-04-25T12:56:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/416871\/"},"modified":"2026-04-25T12:56:10","modified_gmt":"2026-04-25T12:56:10","slug":"driver-caught-making-a-video-while-high-on-cannabis","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/416871\/","title":{"rendered":"Driver caught making a video while high on cannabis"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Gardai in Letterkenny have arrested a man after he was caught making a video while driving his car and high on cannabis.<\/p>\n<p>The man was caught on the dual carriageway outside Letterkenny yesterday afternoon.<\/p>\n<p>Officers from the Letterkenny Roads Policing Unit were on patrol when they came across the incident.<\/p>\n<p>A spokesperson said &#8220;A driver was observed holding his mobile phone above the steering wheel while driving along the dual carriageway.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It transpired that he was making a video! He also tested positive for cannabis and was arrested. A Fixed Charge Penalty Notice will be issued and court may follow.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Gardai detected a number of speeding offences on the dual carriageway yesterday.<\/p>\n<p>One of the speeding drivers in question also tested positive for cannabis and an arrest was made.
