Adam Thomas has revealed that he\u2019s started seeing a therapist after being \u201cchanged\u201d by his time<\/a> on I\u2019m A Celebrity: South Africa. <\/p>\n

The current series of the spin-off has been the most dramatic to date \u2013 particularly for Thomas, who was regularly picked on by campmate David Haye<\/a> before the boxer was eliminated from the competition. <\/p>\n

In an episode that aired earlier this week, Thomas furiously shouted at Jimmy Bullard during a trial <\/a>after the footballer said, \u201cI\u2019m a celebrity, get me out of here,\u201d resulting in both Thomas and himself being eliminated from the competition. Thomas was later allowed to stay in the competition due to the unfair nature of his exit. <\/p>\n

Now, the former Emmerdale star has opened up about the toil that his time on the jungle took on his mental health. <\/p>\n

Speaking about his experience on the show \u2013 which was filmed in September last year \u2013 he said on his podcast on Wednesday (22 April): \u201cI\u2019m not the same person as I was.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s changed me and that\u2019s no over-exaggeration,\u201d he told his brothers, Ryan and Scott on At Home With The Thomas Bro\u2019s. \u201cIt\u2019s changed me. I\u2019m in therapy now because of it. <\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s f***ed with me mentally because I just thought, \u2018How is this happening? I\u2019m a 37-year-old man – how am I letting some other person do this to me in here?\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

Referring to Haye\u2019s treatment of him on the show, Thomas said: \u201cI think in a different environment, you\u2019d go, \u2018He doesn\u2019t like me, I\u2019m going to leave the situation.\u2019 But because you\u2019re in an environment like that, there\u2019s nowhere to hide. <\/p>\n

\u201cYou just have to grin and bear it. I said to my therapist, \u2018Why did I never stick up for myself?\u2019\u2019 adding that he didn\u2019t want to bring any attention to it in camp. <\/p>\n

Breaking down in tears, he said that if he\u2019d seen \u201cthat happening to anyone else\u201d, he would have stood up for them. \u201cBut I couldn\u2019t do it for myself. I just became like a little kid again.\u201d <\/p>\n

Later on in the chat, Thomas revealed that another campmate \u2013 who he wouldn\u2019t name \u2013 made him feel \u201clonely\u201d on the show. <\/p>\n

\u201cThere was just something that was niggling me when I was in there and because of this whole experience, I\u2019m not taking s*** anymore,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cA campmate messaged me this morning and it was a lovely message \u2013 lovely guy but there were moments in there where I was like, \u2018Nah \u2013 I wouldn\u2019t do that to you. Why did you do that to me.\u2019 So I messaged him this morning.\u201d <\/p>\n

\u201cHe just made me feel a little bit lonely and we were really good mates in the beginning and then all of a sudden, we just didn\u2019t really talk to me anymore,\u201d he continued. <\/p>\n

\u201cIt hurt my soul a lot because we were mates and then all of a sudden there were new campmates and he just f***ed me off a little bit. I was gutted about that.\u201d <\/p>\n

On Sunday, Thomas admitted that Haye \u201cbroke\u201d him while they were on the show, after the boxer called him \u201cuseless\u201d for not doing a Bushtucker Trial while feeling ill. <\/p>\n

In the episode, Haye said about the actor: \u201cWho gives a s*** if he doesn’t feel well. He’s a grown-ass man. I don’t like guys who are… a bit useless. I hate them useless guys.\u201d Thomas revealed that Haye later apologised to him over his behaviour.<\/p>\n

Even presenters Ant and Dec spoke about the altercation on the show\u2019s companion podcast, with Dec saying: \u201cIt\u2019s kind of crossed the line from banter. I don\u2019t find it comfortable to watch.\u201d<\/p>\n

Later in the week, Thomas angrily confronted Bullard after he gave up during a trial, telling him: \u201cYou\u2019re taking the p***!\u201d and \u201cIf you wanted to go, go \u2013 don\u2019t do it on my f**ing watch!\u201d<\/p>\n

Bullard has since claimed that the show edited down Thomas\u2019 outburst<\/a> after fellow campmate Sinitta said that she heard \u201cthe c-word\u201d being said. <\/p>\n
