A \u2018free spirited generous man\u2019 who sadly lost his life following a crash at Dublin Airport<\/a> will be laid to rest next week.<\/p>\n

John Fleming, aged in his 60s and from Kilkenny, tragically died after being struck by a bus near Dublin Airport on Corballis Road in Swords<\/a> shortly after 12.10am on Thursday, April 23.<\/p>\n

John, a respected accountant who had published the Irish Racing yearbook for more than two decades, was pronounced dead at the scene.<\/p>\n

His death notice on RIP.ie reads: \u201cJohn passed away on 23 April, 2026, tragically while living his best life. His smiling face and generous heart lifted the lives of many, especially the love of his life, devoted wife Marian, his wonderful children Danny, Fintan and Orlaith, their mother Paula, brothers Patrick, Fergus and Paul, sisters Mary, Anne and Mairead along with their spouses Megan, Cathy, Laura, Cormac, Tom and Ciaran.<\/p>\n

\u201cAlso remembered with great fondness by his nieces and nephews, aunts, cousins, extended families and his wide circle of friends near and far. Predeceased by his parents Richie and Margaret Fleming. John will be remembered for his charm, compassionate nature and free spirit.\u201d<\/p>\n

John will lay in repose at his home on the Castle Road on Sunday, April 26, from 3pm concluding with prayers at 7pm.<\/p>\n

A requiem mass will take place on Monday, April 27, at noon in St. Patrick’s Church, College Road, Kilkenny<\/a>. A private family cremation service will take place on Tuesday afternoon at 2.30pm in Mount Jerome Crematorium, Dublin.<\/p>\n

Tributes have poured in for John following his tragic passing from far and wide, praising him as a man who \u201clived his best life\u201d and always had time for a \u201cchat and a laugh\u201d.<\/p>\n

One mourner penned: \u201cDeepest sympathies to John’s family and friends. John always had time for a chat and laugh every time he was in. May he rest in peace.\u201d<\/p>\n

Another shared: \u201cHarvey lived his best life, bringing fun and happiness to all those who had the privilege to know him. From Niall and I, our heartfelt condolences to you, all of the Fleming family and Harvey’s wide circle of friends. May his gentle soul rest in peace.\u201d<\/p>\n

One more added: \u201cSincere Condolences to Marian and all the Fleming family on the tragic passing of Harvey. It was always a pleasure to be in his company. May he rest in peace.\u201d<\/p>\n

Another said: \u201cDeepest sympathy to all the Fleming family on the shocking death of Harvey. A free spirited generous man gifted with every good attribute. The racing and bloodstock world has lost a star the likes of which won’t be seen again.\u201d<\/p>\n
