Bono\u2019s eldest daughter Jordan Joy has released her first single under her own name to acclaim from REM legend Michael Stipe who called it \u2018the song of the summer\u2019.<\/p>\n
Don\u2019t Kill The Vibe was released on Friday and has been hugely supported by major streaming services Apple Music and Spotify. It was co-produced by Catherine Marks (Wolf Alice) and Jackson Phillips (Day Wave).<\/p>\n
Among the other celebrities to back the incredibly assured indie pop debut were supermodels Helena Christensen and Christy Turlington, late Beatle John Lennon\u2019s eldest son Julian and Hollywood legend Jessica Alba, who posted the tune online to her 22 million followers.<\/p>\n
READ MORE: U2 unleash second surprise EP in as many months and promise brand new album and tour are imminent<\/a><\/p>\n The artwork for the debut Jordan Joy single Don’t Kill The Vibe(Image: Jordan Joy)<\/p>\n Jordan, 36, who shares her May 10 birthday with her U2 frontman dad, is the fourth member of the Hewson family to release music, following her father, her brother Elijah (who sings and plays guitar with Inhaler) and her Hollywood actress sister Eve, who performed several songs for the 2023 musical film Flora and Son.<\/p>\n Jordan said she was \u201cexcited to share this song\u201d that she wanted to evoke \u201cindie New York\u201d, and she promised that there was \u201cmore to come\u201d.<\/p>\n She previously released a number of songs under the name Tenderhooks<\/p>\n The highly promising release comes just weeks after U2 unleashed their first new collections of music in eight years. The two EPs, Days of Ash and Easter Lily, have been widely acclaimed by both fans and music critics alike.<\/p>\n Columbia University graduate Jordan launched her own tech company Speakable in 2016. It promotes social activism and was featured in Forbes magazine\u2019s Social Entrepreneurs list for Europe.<\/p>\n At the time she said: \u201cStarting a business is like sprinting a f**king marathon, except if the marathon was also a labyrinth. And there were ghouls. And no David Bowie.”<\/p>\n Earleir this year, Jordan’s youngest brother John Hewson starred in RTE TV series These Sacred Voews alongside Love\/Hate’s Tom Vaughan-Lawlor.<\/p>\n The writer and director behind These Sacred Vows, John Butler, said at the time: \u201cI think it\u2019s one of his first acting roles.
