Spotify \u2013 yes, the music app \u2013 is expanding into video workouts in a new partnership with Peloton, and there\u2019s a pretty big advantage over Fitbit here already.<\/p>\n

Available starting today, the Spotify app has a range of video workouts from Peloton, all available at no added cost for Premium subscribers. There are more than 1,400 workout classes, and there\u2019s no special equipment needed.<\/p>\n

Through our new partnership with Peloton, Premium users in supported markets will also gain access to a continually growing catalog of more than 1,400 ad-free, on-demand classes as part of their existing subscription. The catalog includes everything from outdoor runs to structured mat-class options across strength, cardio, yoga, and meditation from fan-favorite instructors like\u00a0Rebecca Kennedy,\u00a0Ally Love, and\u00a0Rad Lopez\u2014no specialized equipment required.<\/p>\n

The most useful thing here, though, might just be that this works across all of your devices. Spotify workout videos are available on your phone, through the desktop app on your computer\/laptop, and on your TV too. Just search \u201cfitness\u201d to access the hub.<\/p>\n

9to5Google\u2019s Take<\/p>\n

On seeing this, I couldn\u2019t help but draw a comparison to Google\u2019s Fitbit. <\/p>\n

Fitbit video workouts are readily available and super useful, especially as snippets are used within the AI-powered Fitbit Coach experience. But these workouts aren\u2019t available on nearly as many devices. Basically, they\u2019re available solely on your smartphone. You can\u2019t view them on a computer and, outside of Google Cast<\/a>, it\u2019s not easy to bring them to the TV either. Google TV integration was supposedly in the works<\/a>, but it\u2019s never actually happened.<\/p>\n

Spotify\u2019s workouts may not be as integrated with your fitness tracker, a big advantage of Fitbit\u2019s offering, but if workouts are something you\u2019re trying to work into your daily routine, accessibility is arguably a huge factor, and Spotify just beat Google on its first try in that department, and they really make a great pitch here:<\/p>\n

Fitness on Spotify is designed to be flexible and seamless: start a video workout on your TV, switch to audio on your phone for a run, and wind down with guided recovery on your smart speaker. It\u2019s one experience across devices, with no friction or app-switching.<\/p>\n

Google, please, can we get some of this action in Fitbit? Or I guess \u201cGoogle Health\u201d as it may soon be called.<\/a><\/p>\n
