Beau Greaves became the first woman to win a PDC ranking title with a historic 8-7 victory over Michael Smith in Monday’s Players Championship 11 final in Milton Keynes.

Greaves came through in a last-leg decider thanks to a stunning 142 checkout, while she also reeled in The Big Fish finish of 170 for a 6-3 lead earlier in the contest.

Making Greaves’ achievement all the more remarkable was that fact that the 22-year-old disposed of three former world champions across her final three matches.
