Emmerdale’s Bear Wolf, Paddy Dingle and Dylan Penders all learn their fates next week, as the trial for Ray Walters’s murder<\/a> gets under way.<\/p>\n

Paddy fears for his dad’s future, and is also terrified that he and Dylan could find themselves behind bars for covering up the crime. What will the verdict be as the trio face the consequences? <\/p>\n

As judgement day dawns, Paddy shares an emotional moment with Dylan before they set off for court. Meanwhile, Marlon Dingle tries to calm anxious April Windsor, who has been summoned to give evidence about being embroiled in Ray and Celia’s nefarious crime network. <\/p>\n

The trial begins, and barristers discuss details of the horror Bear endured while he was enslaved by the illegal operation. While it’s important the judge and jury fully understand what led brainwashed Bear to kill his captor, reliving his nightmare proves difficult.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, having been pressured into drug dealing and almost forced into sex work by evil Ray, April explains her experiences to the court. Feeling the pressure, she crumbles under cross-examination and reckons she’s made the situation worse for the accused\u2026 <\/p>\n

April flees the courtroom, utterly devastated. Following his daughter into the corridor, supportive Marlon praises her bravery, and reassures her that she’s done everything she can to save Bear and the boys. <\/p>\n

Next, it’s Dylan’s turn to take the stand. The lad was groomed and used by Ray, and it’s only since Paddy and Mandy took him in that he’s felt safe and secure. <\/p>\n

Revealing his truth as he addresses the court, Dylan recalls how Ray could’ve killed him and Paddy, and that he has Bear to thank for saving their lives \u2013 as well as bringing Ray’s reign of terror to an end. Hearing Dylan tell his version of events brings things into focus for Bear, who still blames himself for dragging others into this mess. <\/p>\n

Unbeknown to Bear, his most challenging moment in the trial is yet to come thanks to a shock twist that changes everything.<\/p>\n

The defence calls Simo<\/a>, one of Bear’s fellow enforced workers from the farm. But instead of being their star witness, loose cannon Simo’s testimony throws the case into disarray. <\/p>\n

“Simo has an axe to grind because he perceived Bear to have received preferential treatment from Ray,” explains Joshua Richards, who plays Bear.<\/p>\n

“Of course he didn’t, Bear was being groomed, but Simo giving evidence blows up in their faces. So, there’s no choice \u2013 Bear is forced to take the stand himself.”<\/p>\n

Paddy, Mandy and the rest of Bear’s loved ones are reeling from the defence team’s last-minute decision, knowing he’s not in the best frame of mind to deal with such a stressful scenario.<\/p>\n

Thankfully they have a whole evening to prepare before Bear is called the following day, but as the tension mounts, it’s clear the case hangs on what the next 24 hours will bring. <\/p>\n

Kicking off proceedings is Bear’s counsellor Lucy, who delivers powerful evidence explaining the accused’s actions were fuelled by months of psychological manipulation inflicted by Ray. <\/p>\n

The time comes for vulnerable Bear to tell his traumatic story in the dock. How will he cope with getting grilled \u2013 and can he, Paddy and Dylan escape a jail sentence? <\/p>\n
