Three in four respondents said their travel budget does not stretch as far due to higher prices.

Rising costs appear to be reshaping behavior. Seven in 10 Americans said they are being more careful with money this year, while 46 percent are trying to make their budgets go further and 42 percent are cutting unnecessary spending.

Despite tighter budgets, travel remains a priority for many.

“What’s interesting is that people aren’t necessarily traveling less; they’re just approaching it differently,” said Dana Studebaker, Vice President of Marketing at CheapCaribbean Vacations. “For many, it’s become more about making thoughtful choices, whether that’s cutting back in certain areas, planning more strategically, or focusing on what truly makes a trip memorable. Even with tighter budgets, the desire to travel and connect with others remains strong.”

To stretch their dollars, travelers are adjusting how they spend while on the road. Dining out is the most common expense being reduced, cited by 42 percent of respondents, followed by shopping or souvenirs (40 percent) and trip length (33 percent).

Others are skipping higher-end options, including luxury dining (44 percent), upscale hotels (40 percent) and spa treatments or wellness experiences (35 percent).

Flexibility is also playing a role, with 72 percent saying they are willing to adjust travel dates to save money.

Top Ways Americans Are Making Their Travel Budgets Go Further

Bring snacks or groceries instead of eating out for every meal (34 percent)

Drive instead of flying when possible (28 percent)

Take fewer trips per year but make them count (24 percent)

Take advantage of free attractions or activities at their destination (22 percent)

Look for travel deals or flash sales (21 percent)

Travel to visit friends or family to save on lodging (21 percent)

Choose budget or mid-range accommodations instead of luxury hotels (20 percent)

Shorten the length of my trip (20 percent)

Travel during off-peak or shoulder seasons (20 percent)

Be flexible with travel dates to find cheaper flights (20 percent)

The survey also found that 83 percent of Americans now consider value for money an important factor when booking travel, with 29 percent prioritizing overall value over simply finding the lowest price.

Even as budgets tighten, many travelers are finding satisfaction in simpler experiences. Sixty-six percent said the best parts of a vacation are free, including relaxation (59 percent), time with loved ones (52 percent) and enjoying nature (42 percent).

The Talker Research survey was conducted online between Thursday, March 26 and Monday, March 30 among 2,000 Americans with internet access.

Travelers rethink how they spend without giving up trips entirely. — Pixabay/Ahmad Ardity A shift in how Americans…

[11
2410,72,185605,113,61,60
post-424018","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-economy","tag-americans","tag-business","tag-cheapcaribbean-vacations","tag-economy","tag-ie","tag-ireland
["GET
