\u201cLate Night<\/a>\u201d host Seth Meyers<\/a>\u00a0roasted White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt<\/a>\u00a0on Wednesday for making a fuss about President Donald Trump<\/a>\u2019s escalator \u201csnafu\u201d at the United Nations<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Leavitt, while citing a\u00a0Sunday Times report<\/a>\u00a0in an appearance on Fox News, suggested that \u201cU.N. globalist staffers\u201d sabotaged the president as he arrived to address the U.N. General Assembly.<\/p>\n

\u201cMan, you know I\u2019ve heard a lot about these globalists over the years, but I didn\u2019t realize their MO was to just burn you with soft pranks,\u201d Meyers quipped.<\/p>\n

\u201cTeleprompter down, escalator off. When the president was talking, someone tied his shoelaces together! Are they a shadowy cabal or Kevin from \u2018Home Alone?\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

On Wednesday evening, Trump used social media<\/a> to name the escalator episode among three \u201cvery sinister events\u201d that took place at the U.N. this week.<\/p>\n

He declared that he and first lady Melania Trump<\/a> avoided a \u201cdisaster\u201d by not falling \u201cforward onto the sharp edges of these steel steps, face first.\u201d He then called for the arrest of anyone behind the stopped escalator.<\/p>\n

A spokesperson for the U.N. previously linked Trump\u2019s videographer to bringing the escalator to a halt<\/a>, suggesting that they may have \u201cinadvertently triggered\u201d a built-in safety function while walking backward up the escalator to capture his arrival.<\/p>\n

\u201cOh, hey, look at that \u2014 they solved the conflict in one day! How about that?\u201d quipped Meyers, nodding to Trump\u2019s claims that he could end Russia\u2019s war in Ukraine in \u201cone day<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n
