Coronation Street fans have been left devastated following a hugely emotional moment in Debbie Webster’s dementia storyline<\/a>. The show has been exploring how Debbie’s life is being affected by the condition<\/a> following her diagnosis.<\/p>\n

Events took a notably devastating turn in her decline in last night’s episode as Debbie was unable to remember husband Ronnie’s name.<\/p>\n

After he told her, Debbie declared: “I’m losing it, Ronnie. I couldn’t remember. And the more I tried, the more… How could I forget your name?”<\/p>\n

She then proceeded to break down in tears in a very poignant moment.<\/p>\n

Viewers expressed their praise and heartbreak over the scene on social media, one sharing on X<\/a>: “Debbie forgetting Ronnie’s name, oh that hurt.”<\/p>\n

“So sad seeing Debbie forget Ronnie’s name in tonight\u2019s #Corrie brilliant performances from Sue [Devaney],” another added<\/a>, a third person equally praising Sue’s acting, writing<\/a>: “This Debbie storyline is getting more heartbreaking with each episode, Sue Devaney is incredible.”<\/p>\n

“Seeing Debbie suffering in these scenes were so devastating and heartbreaking,” a fourth said<\/a>. “Debbie is such a precious and loved character. Sue Devaney and Vinta Morgan are incredible together.”<\/p>\n

“Debbie forgetting Ronnie’s name. This moment was devastating,” another wrote<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Sue recently revealed that Debbie’s storyline still has “a long way to go<\/a>“, explaining to Digital Spy: “There’s a lot more fun to be had. You do see her deteriorating and that’s really upsetting, but you still see the Debbie that I love to play \u2013 the fun Debbie!<\/p>\n

“It’s Debbie in all her glory. You see her with her friends and that’s lovely. She’s doing all the things that she’s always wanted to do in life.”<\/p>\n
