{"id":425081,"date":"2026-04-30T11:40:23","date_gmt":"2026-04-30T11:40:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/425081\/"},"modified":"2026-04-30T11:40:23","modified_gmt":"2026-04-30T11:40:23","slug":"all-ireland-u16-camogie-championship-trophy-named-the-kate-moran-cup","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/425081\/","title":{"rendered":"All-Ireland U16 Camogie Championship trophy named the Kate Moran Cup"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<img src=\"https:\/\/camogie.b-cdn.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/69484_1256960-1024x670.jpg\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"lazyload\" data-eio-rwidth=\"1024\" data-eio-rheight=\"670\"\/><\/p>\n<p>The Camogie Association has announced that the All-Ireland U16 A Camogie Championship trophy will be named the Kate Moran Cup.<\/p>\n<p>The decision honours the memory of the late Kate Moran, who tragically passed away while in action for her club, Athenry in 2022.<\/p>\n<p>Kate was a talented and dedicated player who represented her club and county with distinction, and she achieved notable success at underage level, winning two U16A All-Ireland titles.<\/p>\n<p>The Kate Moran Cup will be presented for the first time following this Saturday\u2019s eir All-Ireland U16A Championship Final, where Galway face Kilkenny.<\/p>\n<p>The decider will take place at Grant Heating St Brendan\u2019s Park, Birr, as part of a double-header with the B Championship final between Kildare and Westmeath.<\/p>\n<p>The double-header will be streamed live on the Camogie Association\u2019s YouTube channel.<\/p>\n<p>Commenting, Uachtar\u00e1n an Chumainn Cam\u00f3ga\u00edochta Brian Molloy said:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Camogie Association is proud to make this gesture, which we hope will honour Kate\u2019s memory in a meaningful way.
