Kit Green<\/a> actor Jacob Roberts has opened up about the aftermath of Coronation Street’s murder mystery storyline. Carla Connor and Lisa Swain’s wedding<\/a> in the ITV soap<\/a> has been overshadowed by Betsy Swain discovering the body of an unknown resident<\/a>.<\/p>\n

This week’s special flashback episodes have each begun at the same point of the big day so far, following a different possible murder victim each time – Theo Silverton<\/a>, Carl Webster<\/a>, Jodie Ramsey<\/a>, Megan Walsh<\/a>, or Maggie Driscoll<\/a>.<\/p>\n

With the discovery of the body, scenes set to air next week will see police, including Lisa and Kit, descend to launch a full-scale murder investigation, soon making a dramatic arrest<\/a>.<\/p>\n

“To be honest, I don\u2019t think Kit is entirely shocked. When he sees the body and realises what\u2019s happened, he\u2019s actually quite composed,” Jacob said. <\/p>\n

“There have been a few murders in the last two years on this street since Kit has been here, so at this point, a suspicious death is almost par for the course.” <\/p>\n

He continued: “We have five potential victims in this storyline, and every single one of them has a reason why someone might want them gone. When there\u2019s that much history and that many motives flying around, you lose the ability to be truly surprised.”<\/p>\n

On whether Kit has any suspicions as to who is behind the slaying, he continued: “Oh, absolutely. I think he has someone nailed down in his mind almost immediately.<\/p>\n

“He\u2019s got his primary suspect, but the tricky part is that everyone else on the street has their own suspicions too. It\u2019s going to be a matter of Kit weeding through the noise to find the actual proof. It\u2019s definitely intense.”<\/p>\n

An arrest is set for next week, with Jacob describing Kit as “in his element” in the station’s interview room.<\/p>\n

“The interview room is Kit\u2019s home, in a way. He\u2019s in his element there. He\u2019s comfortable, he\u2019s in control, and he knows how to manipulate suspects,” Jacob explains. <\/p>\n

“He\u2019s looking for that one slip-up so he can pounce. I\u2019ll be spending a lot of time in that room over the next few weeks, and I love the challenge of it.”<\/p>\n

Several characters’ stories have taken centre stage this week, and more are set to be put under a microscope as the investigation continues, a scope that Jacob has found “great”.<\/p>\n

He continued: “I get to jump into everyone else\u2019s storylines and hopefully help drive them forward. It\u2019s a treat to work with different actors, see how they approach their scenes, and watch their process. It keeps the job fresh every single day.”<\/p>\n

Coronation Street airs on weeknights at 8.30pm on ITV1 and streams on ITVX<\/a>.<\/p>\n
