Kobbie Mainoo has come back from the brink and secured a much-deserved contract extension at Man Utd. <\/p>\n

Time moves quickly in football, and for Kobbie Mainoo<\/a>, it moved rapidly, as he has gone from demanding a January loan move<\/a> to becoming the first name on the teamsheet. <\/p>\n

He deserves as much credit for this turnaround as Michael Carrick<\/a>, who has unleashed Mainoo and built the team around him.<\/p>\n

The talks to extend Mainoo\u2019s contract had been in the works even before Ruben Amorim took over. <\/p>\n

He was still on the contract given to him upon his senior team breakout, and didn\u2019t reflect his meteoric rise since then, which culminated in a starting place in the Euros Final. <\/p>\n

Needless to say, Amorim\u2019s (lack of) usage of Mainoo forced Man Utd to shelve extension talks, as they even entertained selling him at one point. <\/p>\n

Carrick brought him back from the brink, and Mainoo has repaid that trust<\/a>, with United now finishing this story by finalising a contract extension. <\/p>\n

As per Man Utd\u2019s official website<\/a>, Mainoo has signed an extension that ties him to the club until 2031, which means he joins Amad as one of the players in the current Man Utd squad<\/a> who were here under the Glazers, but received the ultimate backing from Ineos.<\/p>\n

Mainoo is reportedly set to earn around \u00a3135k-150k\/week, which brings him in line with the established members of the squad under Ineos\u2019 new pay structure. <\/p>\n

Mainoo\u2019s challenge begins now<\/p>\n

Seeing how young he still is, Mainoo has already faced a rollercoaster career, but he hasn\u2019t faced the challenge he\u2019s about to face.<\/p>\n
