Munster Rugby are pleased to announce a two-year contract extension for scrum-half Ethan Coughlan that keeps him at the province until at least 2028.<\/p>\n
The 24-year-old Ennis RFC and Shannon man has scored three tries in 31 Munster appearances since making his debut in the famous Champions Cup win over Wasps in December 2021.<\/p>\n
Coughlan joined the Munster Rugby Academy in the summer of 2021 after helping Ennis RFC to the Munster U16s title in 2018 and U18 honours in 2020.<\/p>\n
He captained the Ireland U18 Clubs in Italy in 2019 before signing up with All Ireland League side Shannon RFC.<\/p>\n
Coughlan featured for the Ireland U20s in 2022 and made his first URC start against Sharks at Thomond Park in October 2023, enjoying an excellent 2023\/24 campaign with six senior appearances.<\/p>\n
In total, he made 10 senior appearances over his three years in the Academy before moving up to the senior squad in 2024.
