\n\tGoldie Hawn<\/a> has not acted in a movie since 2020\u2019s \u201cThe Christmas Chronicles,\u201d but it\u2019s not like the Oscar winner put herself in a self-imposted retirement. Hawn told People magazine <\/a>that she would very much like to act agan. The problem is that the scripts being offered to her are not up to par, and Hawn is no longer interested in just acting for acting\u2019s sake.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cIt\u2019s about the content,\u201d Hawn said. \u201cIt has to do with the content. Acting for acting\u2019s sake, taking things\u2026 I\u2019ve read a lot of shows, a lot of scripts that I didn\u2019t like or I didn\u2019t think I\u2019d fit. The one thing about acting is that I\u2019ve done it, and I had a great career, and I honor that.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cI would love to get a material that could actually be like, \u2018Oh my God, I want this so bad. This is so funny. She\u2019s so crazy. She\u2019s so interesting.\u2019 But I haven\u2019t come across it,\u201d she added. \u201cIf somebody came up with a really cool, funny script\u2026 I think it would be great.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tHawn has no formal plans to return to acting at this time. She floated the idea of acting alongside her daughter and two-time Oscar nominee Kate Hudson, saying: \u201cI would love that. And the two of us have thought a lot about it.\u201d <\/p>\n

\n\tAfter breaking out on television in the NBC sketch comedy series \u201cRowan & Martin\u2019s Laugh-In\u201d and the CBS sitcom \u201cGood Morning World,\u201d Hawn delivered her star-making turn and won an Oscar for the 1969 movie \u201cCactus Flower.\u201d Her other major films include \u201cThe Sugarland Express,\u201d \u201cShampoo,\u201d \u201cThe First Wives Club,\u201d \u201cOverboard\u201d and \u201cPrivate Benjamin,\u201d the latter of which earned her an Oscar nomination for best actress. <\/p>\n

\n\tHawn took a 15-year acting break between 2002\u2019s \u201cThe Banger Sisters,\u201d a comedy-drama co-starring Susan Sarandon, and 2017\u2019s \u201cSnatched,\u201d an R-rated comedy with Amy Schumer. She worked with husband Kurt Russell on Netflix\u2019s \u201cChristmas Chronicles\u201d movies. <\/p>\n
