{"id":426390,"date":"2026-05-01T05:24:16","date_gmt":"2026-05-01T05:24:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/426390\/"},"modified":"2026-05-01T05:24:16","modified_gmt":"2026-05-01T05:24:16","slug":"gaa-confirm-football-hurling-double-header-for-limerick-tailteann-cup-opener","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/426390\/","title":{"rendered":"GAA confirm football-hurling double header for Limerick Tailteann Cup opener"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/ppsfinancial.ie\/contact-us\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/PPS_ad_GAA-1777539112890.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1000\" height=\"317\"\/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>THE GAA have confirmed the fixture details for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.limerickleader.ie\/section\/245\/sport\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Limerick&#8217;s<\/a> Tailteann Cup round 1 clash with Wexford.<\/p>\n<p>After reaching last year&#8217;s final, Limerick got a tough draw for their opener this season, travelling to Chadwick&#8217;s Wexford Park on Saturday, May 9.<\/p>\n<p>The game will throw in at 6pm and be the second part of a double header with the Slaneysiders Leinster Senior Hurling Championship clash with Dublin commencing at 4pm.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s a tough draw, a tough assignment to be fair about it,\u201d said Limerick manager Jimmy Lee said to the Limerick Leader. \u201cYou have to venture down there.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe know a lot about Wexford and they know a lot about us. We\u2019ve met three times in the last 18 months so it\u2019s a tough draw but, look, that\u2019s the hand of cards that we have.
