Brady Ebert, co-founder and former guitarist of Baltimore rock\/hardcore band Turnstile, is now facing a potential life sentence following an upgraded charge of attempted first-degree murder.<\/p>\n

Ebert was arrested<\/a> in late March after allegedly intentionally driving his car into<\/a> 79-year-old William Yates, father of Turnstile vocalist Brendan Yates. The elder Yates was subsequently hospitalized with serious injuries.<\/p>\n

According to The Baltimore Banner<\/a>, a Montgomery County grand jury indicted Ebert yesterday (Thursday, April 30) on the new charge. Previously, Ebert had been facing an attempted second-degree murder rap, among other charges.<\/p>\n

Ebert remains in custody at the Montgomery County Correction Facility and is next due in court on May 8 for a scheduling hearing.<\/p>\n

William Yates has since been discharged from the hospital and continues to recover at home.
