It\u2019s been almost two years to the day since Kylie Minogue<\/a> met Jonathan Anderson<\/a>. On the first Monday in May, 2024, the princess of pop took a much-needed break from her Las Vegas residency to attend the Met Gala<\/a>. The dress code that year was \u2018The Garden of Time\u2019, and Minogue wore a custom Diesel<\/a> gown that transformed her into Sleeping Beauty \u2013 and sleepy she was, exhausted from performing night after night. Despite her fatigue, there was one person who could persuade her to attend an afterparty, and that person was Anderson. Naturally, Kylie out-danced everyone and ended up being the person on the dancefloor.<\/p>\n

Immediately, the pair hit it off, and earlier this year the Australian icon fronted JW Anderson\u2019s<\/a> AW26 lookbook, alongside the likes of super model Mona Tougaard and fashion journalist Tim Blanks. Anderson might be one of the busiest people in fashion \u2013 juggling his namesake label while designing womenswear, menswear and couture at Dior<\/a> \u2013 but he\u2019ll always make time for Kylie. Today (May 1), the duo have reunited once again, giving Dazed the exclusive look at the second iteration of their AW26 campaign, which you watch below. \u201cKylie Minogue brings a special excitement, an emotion,\u201d says Anderson. \u201cPlacing her within this world allows something new to emerge.\u201d<\/p>\n

2026 marks a huge year for Kylie. Not only is she a JW Anderson It-girl, she\u2019s also about to drop a hotly anticipated three-part Netflix documentary about her life. Then, she\u2019ll be celebrating the 25th anniversary of her monumental 2001 album, Fever. Plus, we can expect a few more surprises too, as she explains below.<\/p>\n

Hey Kylie \u2013 when and where did you first meet Jonathan?<\/p>\n

Kylie Minogue: We first met at his party after the Met Gala in 2024. I was doing my Vegas residency at the time and was really clinging onto my sanity with the workload and seemingly endless other things. So I wasn\u2019t entirely sure if I would get to an afterparty. I asked how long it would take to get to Jonathan\u2019s party and the answer was twelve minutes. I couldn\u2019t argue with twelve minutes, so headed downtown. That\u2019s where we met and that\u2019s where I was one of the last ones dancing. He was divine and the night was wonderful. We didn\u2019t meet again until the lookbook photoshoot, so next time I\u2019d say \u2018how about a cup of tea!?\u2019<\/p>\n

What\u2019s one of your favourite things about him?<\/p>\n

Kylie Minogue: Seeing his mum and dad so proud at his shows!<\/p>\n

And do you have a favourite item from JW Anderson?<\/p>\n

Kylie Minogue: I have an orange and bronze-ish colour rabbit silk scarf from a few years ago. Amazingly, I haven\u2019t lost it as it’s been used in a multitude of ways and travelled all around the world.<\/p>\n

This AW26 collection is all about craft. What\u2019s a craft you\u2019d love to master?<\/p>\n

Kylie Minogue: Oh, I am quietly a craft fanatic. Always have been. That was my thing as a teenager \u2013 to take my few bucks to the market and buy vintage clothes or fabric and then alter them to fit me or make something entirely new. My Welsh grandmother (Nain) taught me how to knit, cut patterns and sew. All things I didn\u2019t know would be so helpful in my career. I never mastered any of it but am so grateful to know the basics. Perhaps my new craft could be pottery. On a tour day off last year a few of us took a wheel throwing class \u2013 so much fun.<\/p>\n

What do you look for in a garment?<\/p>\n

Kylie Minogue: My personal style is pretty simple. But good simple isn\u2019t easy.\u00a0 So when I find something I like, I keep it for a long time and just repeat, repeat. I\u2019m also usually conscious of travel so I looooove it when an outfit looks good, feels good and packs down small. For this reason and, just because I love it and have ever since the early 90s, my most common go-to for an evening is an easy slip-on dress, light strappy heels or a comfortable mule \u2013 comfort is not a dirty word! \u2013 and a slouchy cardigan that you can kind of wear on and off.\u00a0 Daytime, a loose pant and tee or roomy sweater, and I have a penchant for a good cap or hat.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

This year marks the 25th anniversary of Fever! How will you be celebrating?<\/p>\n

Kylie Minogue: This depends. Can you keep a secret? Hmmmmm. What I can say is that I will definitely be celebrating. It\u2019s an album that still stands up, marks a real point in time not only for me but for some others and it\u2019s such a weird and wonderful mix of emotions looking back.<\/p>\n

Do you have a favourite look from the Fever era?<\/p>\n

Kylie Minogue: Omg, so many. Grace Jones\u2019 white catsuit and Manolo Blahnik white pumps from the \u201cCan\u2019t Get You Out Of My Head\u201d video for starters. I also love the Dolce & Gabbana looks from the tour, the Clockwork Orange section, and the ballad section.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

What\u2019s something you\u2019re looking forward to this year?<\/p>\n

Kylie Minogue: There\u2019s a lot happening. My Netflix documentary is coming very soon, we’ll be celebrating the 25th anniversary of Fever later this year, and a few other little surprises…<\/p>\n
