{"id":428532,"date":"2026-05-02T10:27:13","date_gmt":"2026-05-02T10:27:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/428532\/"},"modified":"2026-05-02T10:27:13","modified_gmt":"2026-05-02T10:27:13","slug":"sentencing-adjourned-after-drugs-seized-at-house-in-east-cork","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/428532\/","title":{"rendered":"Sentencing adjourned after drugs seized at house in East Cork"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"contextmenu internal_Body1st\">The sentencing of a man on multiple drugs charges arising out of the seizure of amphetamines and cannabis at a house in Youghal in November 2024 has been scheduled for next November.<\/p>\n<p class=\"contextmenu Body Body\">Bartosz Lisowski, aged 39, of Ard\u00e1n na Mara, Youghal, Co Cork, previously signed pleas of guilty at the district court.<\/p>\n<p class=\"contextmenu Body Body\">He recently affirmed those guilty pleas Cork Circuit Criminal Court.<\/p>\n<p class=\"contextmenu Body Body\">Defence senior counsel Ray Boland asked for sentencing to be adjourned until November 4 so that a probation report could be prepared on the accused.<\/p>\n<p class=\"contextmenu Body Body\">Judge Helen Boyle acceded to that application.<\/p>\n<p class=\"contextmenu Body Body\">The most serious drugs charge to which Lisowski pleaded guilty was one of possessing cannabis and amphetamine, where the aggregate value exceeded \u20ac13,000.<\/p>\n<p class=\"contextmenu Body Body\">Sentencing on such a charge under the Misuse of Drugs Act carries a mandatory 10-year sentence unless the sentencing judge finds that there are exceptional circumstances in the case.<\/p>\n<p class=\"contextmenu Body Body\">The defendant had also pleaded guilty to money laundering, in respect of a sum of cash totalling \u20ac5,525 that was also found when the drugs were seized on November 16, 2024, at his home.<\/p>\n<p class=\"contextmenu Body Body\">The background circumstances of the case will be outlined at the sentencing hearing on November 4.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"The sentencing of a man on multiple drugs charges arising out of the seizure of amphetamines and cannabis&hellip;\n","protected":false},"author":2,"featured_media":428533,"comment_status":"","ping_status":"","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[2],"tags":[79,54,61,60,43],"class_list":["post-428532","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-ireland","tag-cork-news","tag-courts","tag-ie","tag-ireland","tag-news"],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/428532","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/2"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=428532"}],"version-history":[{"count":0,"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/428532\/revisions"}],"wp:featuredmedia":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media\/428533"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=428532"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=428532"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=428532"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
