Emmerdale star Michelle Hardwick has discussed the chances of Vanessa Woodfield reuniting with Charity Dingle \u2013 and it’s not good news. The duo, aka Vanity, were a popular couple in the Dales but split in 2020, and Charity is currently married to Mackenzie Boyd<\/a>.<\/p>\n

While fans of the ITV soap have often hoped that the pair might get back together one day, Michelle confirmed in an exclusive chat with Inside Soap<\/a> that we shouldn’t expect it to happen any time soon.<\/p>\n

“It’s been a long time now – I think Charity and Mackenzie have been together longer than Vanessa and Charity were!” she remarked. “Obviously, you can never say never in soap, but for now it’s Charity and Mackenzie.<\/p>\n

“Vanessa and Mackenzie have a good relationship as well, they sort of bonded over Christmas. I loved that scene where they were having a drunk cuddle on the sofa! They’re really fun together. I hope there’s more laughs with them in the future.”<\/p>\n

In this week’s scenes, some of the women in the village tried their hand at playing darts in the pub, and the manipulative Dr Todd<\/a> used this bonding activity as an opportunity to get closer to Vanessa \u2013 though she initially didn’t recognise that Todd was flirting with her<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The cast continued throwing arrows when the cameras stopped rolling, and Michelle told us that she was an unexpected natural at the sport\u2026 <\/p>\n

“Between takes, me and Nicola Wheeler [Nicola] used to play the game where you have to get it all around the board, and I kept winning!” she exclaimed.<\/p>\n

“I was really good. Sometimes I’d get a double or triple and I’d be really hoping they got that on camera! I might even get a dart board for the house \u2013 you never know.”<\/p>\n

There could be a new love interest on the horizon for Vanessa, though Todd may have less than honest intentions. Romance aside, Michelle would love to spend more time at her beloved fictional workplace. <\/p>\n

“I love our vets’ dynamic,” she said. “Aside from Tracy, Vanessa’s family really is the vets. I adore working with Dominic Brunt [Paddy] and Zoe Henry [Rhona] – when we’re in the vets it’s a good dynamic.<\/p>\n

“Whether it’s because we’re shouting at each other or bickering, or whether it’s comedy scenes with escaped animals, it’s always good fun, it’s lovely. I’d love more of that.”<\/p>\n
