{"id":428704,"date":"2026-05-02T12:50:10","date_gmt":"2026-05-02T12:50:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/428704\/"},"modified":"2026-05-02T12:50:10","modified_gmt":"2026-05-02T12:50:10","slug":"mayo-atlantic-drive-named-among-irelands-most-scenic-drives","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/428704\/","title":{"rendered":"Mayo Atlantic Drive named among Ireland\u2019s most scenic drives"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>One of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mayonews.ie\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Mayo<\/a>\u2019s most iconic routes has been recognised as one of Ireland\u2019s most scenic drives, with the stunning Atlantic Drive on Achill Island earning a place in a new nationwide ranking.<\/p>\n<p>The study, commissioned by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.123.ie\/blog\/scenic-drives\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">123.ie<\/a>, analysed some of Ireland\u2019s best-known driving routes using factors including TripAdvisor ratings, Instagram popularity, sunshine hours, elevation, route length and drive time.<\/p>\n<p>Atlantic Drive ranked 21st overall in the country, achieving a score of 211.5 out of 600.<\/p>\n<p>Renowned for its dramatic coastal scenery, rugged cliffs and panoramic Atlantic views, the Achill route received an impressive 4.8-star rating from travellers. Better still, the full drive can be enjoyed in around three hours, making it an ideal day trip.<\/p>\n<p>Despite its spectacular setting, Atlantic Drive remains something of a hidden treasure.
