Counties Leitrim, Donegal and Sligo can expect some thunderstorms for a time, as the warning is currently in place until 6pm on Saturday.<\/p>\n

Mixed weather is in store for this Bank Holiday weekend, with rain and possible thunderstorms expected in parts of the country, but some sunny spells might appear too.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe weather will be mixed over the Bank Holiday weekend with showers at times,\u201d said Met \u00c9ireann meteorologist Gerry Murphy on daily weather podcast on Friday.<\/p>\n

“Saturday will bring a good deal of cloud and some scattered showers to most areas,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

The Bank Holiday weekend has started with a cloudy Saturday, which might see showers becoming frequent and heavier through the afternoon before easing off later in the day.<\/p>\n

There is a chance of thunderstorms, especially over the western half of the country, however some sunny spells might appear too.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt will be slightly cooler with highs of 12 to 16C and light southerly breezes,\u201d Mr Murphy said.<\/p>\n

The showers will continue on Saturday night, most likely in Ulster and Connacht, but they will generally die out. <\/p>\n

There will be a mixture of cloudy and clear weather at first, with some mist and fog as well as rain and drizzle in the southeast.<\/p>\n

Temperatures on Saturday night are set to drop to 5 and 10C, Met \u00c9ireann said.<\/p>\n

Sunday will be another cloudy day, but some sunny spells will develop as the day goes on, especially in Connacht and Ulster.<\/p>\n

There will be some showers during the day, with more persistent rain and drizzle expected in the southeast.<\/p>\n

Temperatures will range between 10 and 16C, remaining the coolest in the southeast and warmest in Connacht.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Bank Holiday Monday is likely to be cloudy and dry, with limited sunny spells and some possible light rain or drizzle.<\/p>\n

The highest temperatures will range between 11 and 14C, staying the coolest in the north and warmest in the south.<\/p>\n

Looking at the days ahead, Met \u00c9ireann said it will be cool for the time of year.<\/p>\n
