The only thing harder than surviving an episode of “Fear Factor” has to be surviving an episode of “Fear Factor” with no sleep.<\/p>\n
That’s the idea behind the special two week event “Fear Factor: 48 Hours,” hosted by Johnny Knoxville. <\/p>\n
The trailer for the show features all the usual “Fear Factor” challenges like spiders in players’ faces, walking on glass, electrocution, and eating bugs, with the added stress of no sleep. Anytime a contestant’s head starts to drop, you see light flashing or hear a buzz, forcing them to stay awake.<\/p>\n
Oh and the shock collars they’re handed probably help too! <\/p>\n
According to the show’s official description, for the first episode, airing May 14, “Six new players discover that fear never sleeps in this grueling two-part Fear Factor: House of Fear special. Competing for $50,000, they must carry darkling beetles in their mouths, endure a spelling bee while covered by bees and wear shock collars all night to stay awake! The first 24 hours comes to an end with the start of an all-new Pain Auction!”<\/p>\n
In the second episode, airing May 21, “Five sleep-deprived contestants push through another 24 hours with no sleep – facing tarantulas, needles, electrocution, and a disgusting sushi showdown that pushes one contestant over the edge. The explosive conclusion of the two-part special features a harrowing game of ATV chicken to decide who wins the $50,000 grand prize and the right to say, ‘Fear is not a factor!'”<\/p>\n
