On Saturday’s episode of CNN’s Table for Five, host Abby Phillip and the show’s panelists all got a good laugh over President Donald Trump’s reaction to the Apprentice reboot\"Geraldo<\/p>\n

CNN hosts struggled to contain their laughter at President Donald Trump’s seemingly reluctant endorsement of his son, Donald Trump<\/a> Jr., hosting a reboot of The Apprentice.<\/p>\n

During an episode of CNN’s<\/a> Table for Five show that aired on Saturday, May 2, anchor Abby Phillip and most of the roundtable busted out laughing at the 79-year-old president’s response to Trump Jr., 48, possibly taking over for him in Amazon’s reboot of The Apprentice. Amazon previously shelled out $40 million for the rights to a documentary for a documentary about Trump’s wife, First Lady Melania Trump, 55.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe\u2019s a good guy,\u201d Trump explained of his son, who previously appeared numerous times on the show to serve as a judge beside his father. \u201cHe\u2019s probably good. He\u2019s got a little charisma going. You need a little charisma for that\u2026 so we\u2019ll see what happens. Yeah, they told me about it. We\u2019ll see.\u201d Trump previously issued a blunt six-word remark about Trump Jr. hosting The Apprentice.<\/a><\/p>\n

Abby then began speculating the meaning behind Trump’s choice of words, stating, \u201c\u2018Probably has some charisma\u2019?\u201d after watching the clip. \u201cNot exactly the greatest endorsement.\u201d<\/p>\n

Panelists, Geraldo Rivera, progressive Sirius XM host John Fugelsang, and former Deputy Pentagon Press Secretary Sabrina Singh all laughed at Trump’s statement.<\/p>\n

Former spokesman for former President George W. Bush Pete Seat admitted he was an Apprentice fan, claiming the series was less about the host and more about the contestants and challenges.<\/p>\n

Geraldo had personal experience with the show, having appeared on Trump’s Celebrity Apprentice during its seventh season, finishing second. In Geraldo’s opinion, he said he didn’t believe Trump Jr. could fill his father’s shoes.<\/p>\n

\u201cWell, I\u2019ve known Don Jr. for a long time, almost his whole life, in fact, and Don Jr.\u2019s no Don Sr. There\u2019s a big difference, I mean, just because you\u2019re related to him \u2014\u201d Geraldo explained before Abby inserted, \u201cI think we got that from his father\u2019s reaction,\u201d causing the panelists to start laughing again.<\/p>\n

Geraldo, who has been friends with Trump for many years, praised the second-term POTUS as one of the best entertainers, arguing that Trump Jr. didn’t have the same ability to draw a crowd as his dad.<\/p>\n

\u201cIs there a market for it? I think that maybe if it goes streaming, there\u2019ll be enough of an [audience],\u201d he said. \u201cThe audience is fractured enough that there\u2019ll be a fringe that will dig Don Jr. doing Don Sr.\u2019s act, but there\u2019s only one Donald Trump. And he\u2019s much bigger than Don Jr., he\u2019s more commanding, much more charismatic. I think of the father as one of the great live performers in the history of performance. Don Jr\u2026. He\u2019s a great guy, a nice guy, but he\u2019s not his dad.”<\/p>\n

Trump hosted The Apprentice and The Celebrity Apprentice for a combined 14 seasons spanning from 2004 to 2015.<\/p>\n
