{"id":431965,"date":"2026-05-04T15:59:07","date_gmt":"2026-05-04T15:59:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/431965\/"},"modified":"2026-05-04T15:59:07","modified_gmt":"2026-05-04T15:59:07","slug":"henshaw-ruled-out-of-leinsters-urc-clash-with-lions","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/431965\/","title":{"rendered":"Henshaw ruled out of Leinster&#8217;s URC clash with Lions"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Leinster head coach Leo Cullen has confirmed that Robbie Henshaw will miss Saturday&#8217;s United Rugby Championship clash with the Lions at Aviva Stadium as he enters graduated return to play protocols.<\/p>\n<p>The centre was carried off on a stretcher following a collision with Mikheil Shioshvili after just 15 minutes in Saturday&#8217;s bruising <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rte.ie\/sport\/rugby\/2026\/0502\/1571416-leinster-beat-toulon-champions-cup-semi-final\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Champions Cup semi-final victory over Toulon<\/a> when he was replaced by Jamie Osborne.<\/p>\n<p>In other team news, prop Tadhg Furlong and winger James Lowe are back training and a decision on their availability will be made later in the week. Jordan Larmour is also back in full harness and the winger could come into contention to face the Lions.<\/p>\n<p>Centre Tommy O&#8217;Brien will be further assessed later in the week after picking up an injury on Saturday. Jack Conan will also be reassessed in the coming days.<\/p>\n<p>Flanker Josh van der Flier has graduated return to play protocols and may also be ready for Saturday&#8217;s tie.<\/p>\n<p>There were no further updates on absentees Ryan Baird, Jack Boyle, Paddy McCarthy, RG Snyman, Charlie Tector and Alex Usanov.<\/p>\n<p>Leinster sit level on points with Lions, in fourth place in the URC table, behind Saturday&#8217;s opponents on score difference.
