\n\tWhat do Dave Grohl and Elphaba have in common? On the surface, nothing. But to hear the Foo Fighters<\/a> singer\/guitarist tell it, his band\u2019s just-released 12th studio album, Your Favorite Toy<\/a>, almost shared a title with the second chapter in the Wicked movie franchise. <\/p>\n

\n\tIn an interview with Radio X\u2019s John Kennedy on Friday (May 1), Grohl revealed that the raging single \u201cYour Favorite Toy<\/a>\u201d became the title track because he had to abandon his original idea for the LP\u2019s title due to the billion-dollar movie franchise starring Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo. \u201cActually, you know what I wanted to call the record?\u201d Grohl asked. \u201cI wanted to call the record For Good, because that song, \u2018Your Favorite Toy,\u2019 \u2026 at first I called it For Good,\u201d Grohl explained.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cIn that song, \u2018Your Favorite Toy,\u2019 it says, \u2018Get back, hear that boy? Someone threw away\/ Your favorite toy for good.\u2019 And I was like, \u2018Oh, that\u2019s a good, not only title for the song but also for the album,\u201d Grohl said. \u201cIt could have more than a few meanings, but I\u2019m like, \u2018that\u2019s kind of nice.\u2019 And then that Wicked movie came out and it\u2019s called Wicked: For Good and I was so pissed! So then I changed the title of the song and it just became the title of the album.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tGrohl was probably smart to change the title up after Wicked: For Good hit theaters in November as the second part of director Jon M. Chu\u2019s blockbuster adaptation of the beloved Broadway musical extension of the Wizard of Oz universe pulled in more than $342 million at the box office. The Foos dropped their latest album on April 24 and they\u2019ll take the stage to perform songs from the collection on Friday (May 8) at the Welcome to Rockville Festival in Daytona Beach, Fla.<\/p>\n
