{"id":435711,"date":"2026-05-06T20:36:08","date_gmt":"2026-05-06T20:36:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/435711\/"},"modified":"2026-05-06T20:36:08","modified_gmt":"2026-05-06T20:36:08","slug":"gaa-to-show-kerry-donegal-and-cork-meath-all-ireland-games","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/435711\/","title":{"rendered":"GAA+ to show Kerry-Donegal and Cork-Meath All-Ireland games"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Kerry-Donegal and Cork-Meath All-Ireland SFC Round 1 games later this month will be screened by GAA+, the  Irish Examiner can reveal.<\/p>\n<p>Both matches have been chosen by the association\u2019s streaming arm and are set to be shown on Saturday, May 23.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">For their 4pm slot that Saturday, RT\u00c9 had notified the GAA of their preference for the repeat of last year\u2019s All-Ireland SFC final, <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/www.irishexaminer.com\/sport\/gaa\/arid-41839692.html\">Kerry<\/a> and Donegal\u00a0having also met in April\u2019s Division 1 decider.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">Their second choice had been Cork v Meath in P\u00e1irc U\u00ed Rinn.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">However, that is also set to be broadcasted by GAA meaning RT\u00c9 will televise one of the two remaining <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/www.irishexaminer.com\/sport\/gaa\/arid-41839563.html\">opening round matches<\/a>, Galway v Kildare or Roscommon v Kildare, and GAA+ the remaining clash.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">The change in the format of the All-Ireland SFC from group stages these past three years to an enhanced qualifier system this year meant the previous rights agreement relating to the early stages of the All-Ireland SFC was null and void.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">GAA+ are also expected to have preference in the second half of Round 1 on May 30\/31 when they are due to show three of the four matches. RT\u00c9 will carry the fourth.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">GAA+ are likely to have first call for the Round 2A\/2B games on Saturday, June 13 as well as the third-round clashes on Saturday, June 20.
