<\/p>\nThe comments come months after their eldest son Brooklyn Peltz Beckham accused the couple of controlling narratives in the press about his family and trying to \u201cruin\u201d his relationship with his wife Nicola Peltz Beckham.<\/p>\n
In an Instagram post in January, Peltz Beckham claimed his family values \u201cpublic promotion and endorsements above all else\u201d, adding that \u201cBrand Beckham comes first\u201d.<\/p>\n
Being very close is really, really important to us<\/p>\n
Appearing on Emma Grede\u2019s Aspire podcast this week, Beckham (52) said she was \u201cproud\u201d of all of her children: \u201cBeing very close is really, really important to us and just ultimately we want the kids to be hardworking, kind.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019ve always wanted to be the best mum that I could be and look after the kids, but I also feel that it\u2019s been part of my job to really help them fulfil their full potential and for them to recognise what their sense of purpose is.<\/p>\n
\u201cWith Cruz, for example, it was his music. And anything that I could do to support him, to encourage and to help him, that\u2019s my job as his mum.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s never about being pushy or forcing, it\u2019s being there to support.\u201d<\/p>\n
Beckham and former England player David Beckham (51), known as Posh and Becks, have four children: Brooklyn (27), Romeo (23), Cruz (21) and Harper (14).<\/p>\n

Cruz has followed in the footsteps of his mother and has pursued a career as the frontman of Cruz Beckham and The Breakers.<\/p>\n
Beckham acknowledged her children have had a \u201cvery different upbringing\u201d from that of her and her husband, adding: \u201cI think the world is a very different place now, to what it was when they were younger, and we\u2019ve always tried to protect the children as much as we can.\u201d<\/p>\n
She explained the family had \u201calways been really close\u201d and were \u201cquite traditional\u201d.<\/p>\n
Asked how the scrutiny she faces has shaped how she parents, Beckham said: \u201cI think that it\u2019s very different parenting adult children to parenting smaller children and I\u2019m just trying to do the best that I can, and they grew up so quickly.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s my job to make sure that my kids are the best versions of themselves and that they feel fulfilled. I always encourage them to dream big and then dream even bigger.<\/p>\n
We don\u2019t put any pressure on our kids, we just want them to do what they love<\/p>\n
\u201cThe greatest compliment\u2026 is when someone will say: \u2018I met your kids and they were great kids\u2019.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe don\u2019t put any pressure on our kids, we just want them to do what they love and to work hard and to be happy.\u201d<\/p>\n
Addressing the \u201cBrand Beckham\u2019\u201d concept, she said: \u201cWhen myself and David first met, it was never the intention to start a brand.<\/p>\n
\u201cYou know people talk about Brand Beckham, and that has happened so organically.\u201d<\/p>\n
She said that it \u201cwas never something that we together ever even discussed\u201d, adding that \u201cwe\u2019re a couple of builders, that\u2019s what we do\u201d.<\/p>\n
It comes after social media posts in which Peltz Beckham said he had been \u201ccontrolled by my parents for most of my life\u201d and did not want to \u201creconcile\u201d with his family.<\/p>\n
