Loraine Barry will not return to screens as a judge on Dancing with the Stars this year.<\/p>\n
In a statement posted to her Instagram page, she said it was “the right time” for her to stand down as head judge.<\/p>\n
“I’m very grateful for the memories, friendships, and the enormous amount of joy shared throughout the years. It’s a wonderful family show that I have loved being a part of.”<\/p>\n
She continued: “My heartfelt thanks goes to the viewers of all ages and indeed to everyone for their support over the years, but especially this year.”<\/p>\n
In January, Barry’s mother and former partner both passed away.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The 60-year-old concluded her post by saying she would miss the team and cast.<\/p>\n
In their own statement, RT\u00c9 said, “since 2017, [Barry’s] passion, wisdom and sparkle has helped shape the series into something truly unforgettable.<\/p>\n
“We wish her love, joy and exciting new adventures ahead. She will forever be our Queen of the Ballroom.”<\/p>\n
The station is yet to reveal whether the show will bring in a replacement judge or appoint one of the current judges as head judge.<\/p>\n
This year’s judging line-up also included Brian Redmond and Arthur Gourounlian, and Karen Byrne, a two-time winner of the show who joined the panel for the first time in 2025.<\/p>\n
Commenting on Barry’s post, fellow judge Arthur Gourounlian wrote, “Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for every memory, every laugh, every chat. I know how tough this past year has been for you, but I also know the strength and grace you carry. Wishing you nothing but joy, love, and success in every new adventure ahead.”<\/p>\n
Host Doireann Garrihy shared, “Grateful to have worked alongside you Loraine. You will be so missed in the ballroom.
