That highly anticipated horror film opened to $51.6M. <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tAll of Mortal Kombat II\u2018s cash is from Thursday. Showtimes began at 3PM. <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tForecasts for the R-rated Mortal Kombat II came down into the $40Ms and the question remains whether the second weekend of Devil Wears Prada 2 will beat it, that sequel expected to get a big boost from Mothers Day. Lionsgate\u2019s Michael as well is expected to bring in a female crowd on Sunday as well. Disney has pushed out extra spots this week for Devil Wears Prada 2 targeting Mothers Day moviegoers. <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tDevil Wears Prada 2 ended the week with $101.7M with the movie already past $300M worldwide. <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tStill, a $40M+ start for the Simon McQuoid directed sequel based on the Midway videogame is a great start considering the previous 2021 installment saw its opening and grosses siphoned from a Covid theatrical day-and-date release on HBO Max with $23.3M. That movie finaled at $42.3M domestic and the opening for Mortal Kombat II could outstrip that entire gross alone. <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tParamount\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/billie-eilish-hit-me-hard-and-soft\/\" id=\"auto-tag_billie-eilish-hit-me-hard-and-soft\" data-tag=\"billie-eilish-hit-me-hard-and-soft\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Billie Eilish: Hit Me Hard and Soft<\/a>: The Tour (Live in 3D) directed by Eilish and James Cameron brought in $2.2M in overall previews including last night and April 29 early access shows at\u00a02,350\u00a0locations.\u00a0The pic is expected to bring in $6M-$9M. <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tAmazon MGM Studios\u2019 Sheep Detectives held previews last night which started at 2PM as well as earlier previews. All in, it was $1M.
