Thriller series We Were Liars has confirmed a few new cast members for its second season. The Prime Video<\/a> show, which is based on the E. Lockhart novel, debuted last year and quickly became a hit for the streamer<\/a>.<\/p>\n

It was rapidly renewed for a second run, which will act as a prequel to the original story that focuses on a teenager as she returns to her privileged family and tries to uncover the truth about the accident that led to her to have amnesia.<\/p>\n

It has now been confirmed that Once Upon a Time’s Josh Dallas, Thrash’s Costa D\u2019Angelo, House of the Dragon’s Parker Lapaine, The Rookie’s Peyton List, The Pitt’s Elysia Roorbach and The Conjuring: Last Rites’ Madison Wolfe have joined the ensemble.<\/p>\n

Dallas will play young Harris Sinclair (originally played by David Morse), while Parker is young Carrie (Mamie Gummer), List is young Tipper (Wendy Crewson), Roorbach is young Penny (Caitlin FitzGerald), and Wolfe is young Bess (Candice King).<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, D’Angelo is Pfeff, a “New England college kid with a mysterious edge”, while Emily Alyn Lind is back as Cadence from season one as she returns to Beechwood in “an effort to confront her truth”.<\/p>\n

“As she digs deeper into family secrets, she learns about the Sinclair Sisters\u2019 summer of 1999 \u2013 a summer rife with first love, rivalry, and even murder,” the synopsis adds. “In flashbacks, we see Carrie, Penny, and Bess navigate their own teenage summer, as they come to terms with their past in the present day.”<\/p>\n

Lockhart previously told The Hollywood Reporter<\/a> that her prequel novel Family of Liars \u2013 which the new episodes are based on \u2013 acts as a flashback, and “you will see a whole story about that, but you will still see Cadence, you will still see Johnny, and you will still see all those sisters as adults”.<\/p>\n

The first season of We Were Liars was called “twisted and compelling” by Variety<\/a>, while Paste Magazine<\/a> suggested it was “not a show you want to miss”.<\/p>\n

CBR<\/a> added: “It’s the dreamy teenage child of Succession and The White Lotus that has a lot to say, and manages to say most of it.”<\/p>\n
