Music, song, dance, and sport took centre stage as Limerick couple Melanie Murphy and Adrian Enright said \u201cI do\u201d. Both from Abbeyfeale, Co Limerick, their paths first crossed when they enrolled in preschool.<\/p>\n

But even though the groom was a guest at the bride\u2019s third birthday party, they \u201cdidn\u2019t have a proper conversation after that\u201d until the night of her Leaving Cert results, reveals Melanie. \u201cWe have been together ever since,\u201d she says.<\/p>\n

Adrian popped the question in Italy in May 2024. \u201cIt was the most beautiful place, Hotel Villa Cimbrone in Ravello, on the Amalfi Coast,\u201d says Melanie. \u201cThe proposal was followed by a Michelin dinner experience in the gorgeous Palazzo Avino.\u201d<\/p>\n

Their passions prompted the Castletroy-based couple to choose West Kerry as their wedding destination.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cAdrian has always been a GAA athlete (he played football for Limerick), and I come from a family of traditional Irish musicians, so it was very important to us that we found a place that we would represent and reflect our Irish culture \u2014 and Dingle has always been a place that marries both of those,\u201d says Melanie.<\/p>\n

Celebrant Damian Maloney performed the civil ceremony in the Dingle Skellig Hotel, which was also the reception venue.<\/p>\n

As she arrived on the arm of her dad, Melanie felt \u201cjust complete and utter excitement\u201d, she says. Singers Grainne Gavigan and Trevor Sexton sang U2\u2019s All I Want Is You, with Niall Murphy on fiddle and Rebecca McCarthy Kent on piano, as the bride walked up the aisle.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cOur ceremony music was absolutely and utterly amazing. Everybody was crying, including the groom and four groomsmen,\u201d says Melanie.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur reception entertainment started with Trevor Sexton singing amazing Irish ballads, followed by traditional music by the Rising.\u201d<\/p>\n

Melanie wore an elegant Ella Moda dress, and the men\u2019s suits were from Esquire\u2019s, Limerick.<\/p>\n

Niamh Hurley was Melanie\u2019s hairstylist, and Lizzy Desmond was the bridal makeup artist.<\/p>\n

Melanie\u2019s friends Laura Dillon, Orla Murray, Rachel Dennesen, and Emma Dobson, and her cousin Clodagh Murphy were her bridesmaids and Adrian\u2019s brother Padraig Enright, along with his cousin Dean Enright and his friends Dara Noonan and Colm McSweeney were his groomsmen, with his nephew Benjamin (Benji) Enright as the pageboy.<\/p>\n

Renowned Kerry photographer Padraig Healy ( Padraighealy.com<\/a>) captured the occasion on camera, with LM Videography also behind the lens. \u201cOur big day was beyond our wildest dreams \u2014 it felt like the biggest celebration,\u201d says the bride. \u201cIt was surreal. We feel blessed.\u201d<\/p>\n

Both sets of parents, Mary and Donal Murphy and Eileen and Tom Enright, were a key part of the day\u2019s success. After the dinner, Mel\u2019s family surprised her with a big showcase of Irish music \u2014 thanks to her dad Donal, a world-renowned traditional musician, and her uncle Sean Murphy, co-director and co-founder of the Celtic Steps show.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cWe had Irish dancers and Irish music after the dinner and before the band \u2014 Mel also joined for some sets,\u201d says Adrian.<\/p>\n

Wedding band The Pearls, followed by DJ Gavin O\u2019Reilly, ensured the dance floor had \u201can energetic and lively\u201d vibe, says Melanie.<\/p>\n

The floral arrangements and d\u00e9cor were by Tie The Knot Weddings. ( Tietheknotweddings.ie<\/a>). \u201cDanielle [O\u2019Donoghue] created an actual fairytale,\u201d says Melanie. \u201cMy brother Eoin also made all the marble table numbers from scratch (using a 3D printer for the numbers).\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

O\u2019Carrolls Cakes, Killarney, created the wedding cake.<\/p>\n

\u201cDay two was in P\u00e1id\u00ed O S\u00e9\u2019s, Ventry, where we had the amazing Super Ceili play into the early hours,\u201d adds the bride.<\/p>\n

Melanie, a pharmacist, and Adrian, an automation engineer, plan to honeymoon in Japan later this year.<\/p>\n
