{"id":443401,"date":"2026-05-11T15:05:08","date_gmt":"2026-05-11T15:05:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/443401\/"},"modified":"2026-05-11T15:05:08","modified_gmt":"2026-05-11T15:05:08","slug":"munster-football-championship-attendance-figure-up-significantly-after-bumper-crowd-at-final","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/443401\/","title":{"rendered":"Munster football championship attendance figure up significantly after bumper crowd at final"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The biggest Munster football final crowd in 11 years delivered a 37% increase to the total attendance figure for this year\u2019s provincial championship.<\/p>\n<p>Sunday\u2019s gathering of 32,961 &#8211; the largest final attendance since the 2015 Cork-Kerry draw at Fitzgerald Stadium &#8211; was just shy of the combined 33,491-figure that watched all five games in the 2025 Munster SFC edition.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">Added to last month\u2019s quarter-finals and semis, the total crowd pull for the 2026 championship reached 45,797 &#8211; a cumulative figure last hit in 2018.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">Following three successive Munster deciders where turnstile numbers struggled to break the 13,000-mark, the crowd for Kerry\u2019s comfortable eight-point win over Cork represented a 150% attendance jump on the 2025 Clare-Kerry final at the same Killarney venue.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/5075526_5_articleinlinemobile_LC_20fans_2006.jpg\" alt=\" Young football fans from Carrigaline GAA club. That created a tremendous atmosphere.
