We can\u2019t wait for the Saturday Night Live<\/a> sketch about the Bravo version of the Netflix adaptation of the book Hunting Wives<\/a>. Bravo has green-lit two new shows, one of which is called Secrets, Lies, Texas Wives and sounds like a reality version of the successful streaming soap. \u201cIn the heart of Texas Hill Country is the picture\u2011perfect town of Boerne where wealth, beauty, faith and family reign supreme,\u201d Bravo wrote in a statement. \u201cCentered on a tight-knit circle of glamorous women, this series follows their lives as they raise families, run ranches and farms and manage sparkling social calendars in a town rooted in rodeos and tradition. Behind the polished smiles and Sunday sermons, however, there are intimate relationships and forbidden romances that test loyalties and marriages, jeopardizing the town\u2019s pristine image and proving that perfection is far more complicated than anyone could imagine.\u201d If Bravo can find a \u201cforbidden\u201d gay romance among wives like on the Netflix drama, the network should get a Nobel prize.<\/p>\n This isn\u2019t the first time that Bravo has potentially been devising its shows based on a scripted-television success. The original Real Housewives series was inspired by the success of ABC\u2019s hit TV series Desperate Housewives. \u201cFrom\u00a0Peyton Place\u00a0to\u00a0Desperate Housewives, viewers have been riveted by the fictionalized versions of such lifestyles on television,\u201d producer Lauren Zalaznick said<\/a> when Real Housewives was first announced in 2006. \u201cNow, here is a series that depicts real-life \u2018desperate\u2019 housewives with an authentic look at their compelling day-to-day drama.\u201d In 2026, this new series will do the same thing but with a big-haired<\/a> Texan twang.<\/p>\n Accompanying the sexy Texas show will be a spin-off: Vanderpump Rules: Lisa Las Vegas, which follows Lisa Vanderpump\u2019s attempts to open a new hotel in Las Vegas. Additionally, Real Housewives of Rhode Island<\/a> is getting an early renewal for season two. Its freshman season is currently the No. 2\u2013rated Bravo show across all platforms, behind Beverly Hills.
