{"id":444460,"date":"2026-05-12T05:30:14","date_gmt":"2026-05-12T05:30:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/444460\/"},"modified":"2026-05-12T05:30:14","modified_gmt":"2026-05-12T05:30:14","slug":"pair-arrested-after-incident-at-letterkenny-housing-estate","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/444460\/","title":{"rendered":"Pair arrested after incident at Letterkenny housing estate"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Two men have appeared in court in connection with an incident at a housing estate in Letterkenny recently.<\/p>\n<p>Thomas Reilly and Felix Connors appeared at separate sittings of Letterkenny District Court.<\/p>\n<p>Thomas Reilly, a 23-year-old of Canal Road, Neil T Blaney Road, Letterkenny, and 19-year-old Felix Connors, of Canal Road, Letterkenny, were charged with similar offences.<\/p>\n<p>The pair were before the court over an incident at Glenwood Park, Letterkenny, on May 2, 2026.<\/p>\n<p>They were each charged with using threatening, abusive or insulting words of behaviour in a public place with intent to provoke a breach of the peace or being reckless as to whether a breach of the peace may be occasioned.<\/p>\n<p>The charge is contrary to section 6 of the Criminal Justice (Public Order) Act, 1994.<\/p>\n<p>Evidence of the arrest, charge and caution of Reilly was given to the court by way of a schedule.<\/p>\n<p>Garda Inspector Pat McCann told the court that there may be further charges and the matter needs directions from the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP).<\/p>\n<p class=\"font-sans font-semibold text-xl md:text-[30px] leading-9 text-primary w-full\">\n        You may also be interested in\n    <\/p>\n<p>            <a href=\"https:\/\/www.donegaldaily.com\/news\/ambulance-strike-should-have-been-averted-mac-lochlainn-and-doherty-633516\" class=\"block w-2\/5 shrink-0\" aria-label=\"Ambulance strike should have been averted -
