Tommy Fleming’s wife Tina has told how they split seven months ago<\/a> – just months after Tommy told the lengths he was going to in a bid to sort his ‘crap’ relationship with exercise.<\/p>\n After discovering that one of his arteries was severely blocked, Tommy took that as the springboard to focus on his health and mental health – with getting good sleep a particular struggle.<\/p>\n He told in April last year how he was making a major push to cut out bad habits he had in his 20s – and how being in the public eye actually motivated him.<\/p>\n READ MORE: How ‘Voice of Hope’ DVD broadcast caused ‘serious setback’ for Tommy Fleming and his wife<\/a><\/p>\n Over the weekend it emerged that months later, Tommy and his wife Tina would go their separate ways<\/p>\n The couple, who wed in 2006 after meeting at a mutual friend’s funeral in 2002, confirmed they split seven months ago. “I confirm that our marriage has ended, and we have been separated since October 2025,” Tina said in a statement to the Sunday Independent.<\/p>\n Speaking to RSVP Live<\/a> in April last year, Tommy was up front and vocal about his wellbeing, and not so healthy past.<\/p>\n Tommy Fleming and his wife Tina(Image: Instagram)<\/p>\n He said: \u201cI\u2019ve had health scares over the years. I discovered that one of my arteries is quite severely blocked. I have to keep an eye on that. There\u2019s heart disease in my family. You shouldn\u2019t bury your head in the sand about health issues. You should face up to them.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cWe have a gym in our house. If it\u2019s not raining, I\u2019ll go for a run on the beach and then work out on it. If the weather is bad, I go into our gym and use the treadmill and other bits,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n \u201cI spend about two hours working out every day. My relationship<\/a> with exercise used to be crap. I didn\u2019t realise that I already had a relationship with it when I was younger because we used to walk or cycle everywhere. Subconsciously, you\u2019re keeping fit.\u201d<\/p>\n Tommy finds that he gets a lot out of exercising too.<\/p>\n Opening up about what led to his change of attitude, he said: \u201cEverything. Number one was my mental health. I\u2019ve always said that no matter what the problem is by the time I come back from my run, it\u2019s at least half solved.<\/p>\n \u201cI don\u2019t have an issue with mental health, but I keep an eye on it. I found that if you\u2019re feeling down or you\u2019re not in good form, sometimes exercising is good because it releases the endorphins.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019m very conscious of what goes into my body, compared to what I was like in my 20s,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n \u201cI would eat crap, I smoked and drank in my 20s. We all did. Whereas now, I\u2019m very conscious. The other morning, my wife Tina said that she was going to have a fry-up. I couldn\u2019t remember the last time I had a full Irish. I actually wouldn\u2019t thank you for it. I eat very healthy.<\/p>\n \u201cYour body is talking to you. I eat an awful lot of fruit and vegetables these days, even raw vegetables. I eat raw broccoli and celery. I\u2019d reach for that before I reach for the crisp. It\u2019s for vanity as well.
