A writer for this past Sunday\u2019s Netflix<\/a> roast of Kevin Hart<\/a> revealed a joke about first lady Melania Trump<\/a> that didn\u2019t make the cut. And it might have brought down the house and incurred the wrath of the White House<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The withheld crack goes thusly:<\/p>\n

\u201cTony is like Melania: The only thing relevant about him is that he opened for Trump once.\u201d<\/p>\n

Variety, which shared<\/a> writer Madison Sinclair\u2019s sidelined zingers, didn\u2019t provide a reason for the omission.<\/p>\n

But the political climate for humor has reached a dark place in the Trump administration.<\/p>\n

The first lady\u2019s supposed outrage over a joke told by Jimmy Kimmel about her being an \u201cexpectant widow\u201d \u2015 days before an alleged assassination attempt \u2015 prompted the president to renew his bid to have Kimmel removed for telling jokes he doesn\u2019t like.<\/p>\n

The Netflix<\/a> roast did air a shocking jab<\/a> at Hinchcliffe by Pete Davidson, who quipped: \u201cTony reminds me of Charlie Kirk, in that he\u2019s definitely been on camera letting a guy unload in his throat.\u201d<\/p>\n
