\n\tThis year, Katy Perry<\/a>\u2018s hit \u201cThe One That Got Away\u201d has experienced a resurgence thanks to the track trending on TikTok, which comes at a fitting time, given that the person it\u2019s about, Josh Groban, just got engaged.<\/p>\n

\n\tAnd in a satiric TikTok posted by the pop star on Monday (May 11), she hilariously reacts to her former flame\u2019s happy news by theatrically \u201ccrying\u201d fake tears with an article about the opera singer\u2019s engagement displayed in the background. She also pours herself an absurdly large drink and sips it, looking despondent as it spills over onto her bathrobe.<\/p>\n

\n\tOf course, she had to pair it with \u201cThe One That Got Away.\u201d \u201ccongrats,\u201d she simply wrote in the caption, along with a champagne glass emoji.<\/p>\n

\n\tGroban announced in April <\/a>that he\u2019d popped the question to his girlfriend, theater actress Natalie McQueen. \u201cMY BEST FRIEND SAID YES!!!\u201d he wrote on Instagram at the time.<\/p>\n

\n\tPerry\u2019s reaction a couple weeks later is clearly all in good fun, especially given her own romance with Justin Trudeau. She and the former Canadian prime minister started dating last year, and the hitmaker has since shared numerous photo<\/a>s<\/a> of herself and Trudeau looking happily in love on Instagram.<\/p>\n

\n\tThat said, Groban will always be, well, the one that got away. Perry confirmed in conversation<\/a> with James Corden during a livestream in 2017 that she penned the Teenage Dream single \u2014 which reached No. 3 on the Billboard Hot 100<\/a> \u2014 about the Broadway star, whom she briefly dated around 2009.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cI was not expecting that,\u201d Groban later responded <\/a>on Watch What Happens Live in 2018. \u201cThat was a double take and a spit of my coffee. It\u2019s very sweet of her to say that.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tHer cheeky TikTok is one of a few ways Perry and her team have been promoting \u201cThe One That Got Away\u201d amid its renaissance. In April, she released an extended director\u2019s cut of the song\u2019s cinematic music video, as well as dropped an EP titled Thinking of the One That Got Away that repackaged the single with another one of her older songs that\u2019s been trending lately: \u201cThinking of You.\u201d<\/p>\n
