McIlroy arrived at the course on Monday and addressed the media on Tuesday morning, appearing in good spirits, but reportedly ripped the nail off his toe earlier this week.<\/p>\n
However, he ended his practice round after a few holes, having been seen limping and at one point taken his shoe off to assess the problem, but had previously done extensive range and short-game practice.<\/p>\n

Tom McKibbin will be first of the Irish contingent starting as he tees off from the first hole at 12.40pm Irish time. He will be joined by 2009 US Open champion Lucas Glover of America and Germany’s Stephan Jaeger.<\/p>\n
P\u00e1draig Harrington, winner in 2008, starts at the first at 1.24pm alongside Belgium’s Thomas Detry and American Maverick McNealy.<\/p>\n
Shane Lowry – 6.32pm – has a late start on Day 1 as he tees off alongside 2020 champion Collin Morikawa and Norway’s Viktor Hovland.<\/p>\n
World number one and defending champion Scottie Scheffler is in a stacked group alongside world number four Matt Fitzpatrick \u2013 who has three PGA Tour wins this season \u2013 and world number seven Justin Rose at 2.05pm (7.05pm Irish time).<\/p>\n
Rose is a consistent major performer and is one of only two players in the field \u2013 alongside Keegan Bradley \u2013 to have won at Aronimink before.<\/p>\n
England’s Tommy Fleetwood and Scotland’s Robert McIntyre are paired together, while 2024 champion Xander Schauffele plays alongside three-time winner Brooks Koepka and England’s Tyrrell Hatton.<\/p>\n
