{"id":447530,"date":"2026-05-13T23:31:08","date_gmt":"2026-05-13T23:31:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/447530\/"},"modified":"2026-05-13T23:31:08","modified_gmt":"2026-05-13T23:31:08","slug":"apple-prepares-app-store-for-autonomous-ai-agents","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/447530\/","title":{"rendered":"Apple Prepares App Store for Autonomous AI Agents"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.apple.com\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Apple<\/a> is exploring ways to allow developers to offer artificial intelligence (AI) agents into its <a href=\"https:\/\/www.apple.com\/app-store\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">App Store<\/a>\u00a0while maintaining its regulations designed to prevent the spread of malware and other wrongdoing, The Information\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.theinformation.com\/articles\/apple-explores-ways-welcome-ai-agents-app-store?offer=rtsu-engagement-25%2Crtsu-featured-articles-pro&amp;utm_campaign=RTSU%3A+Apple+Explores&amp;utm_content=13326&amp;utm_medium=email&amp;utm_source=cio&amp;utm_term=9246\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">reported<\/a> Wednesday (May 13), citing unnamed sources.<\/p>\n<p>Currently, the company bans vibe coding tools from the App Store, but there is a growing supply of, and demand for, those and other sorts of AI agents, according to the report.<\/p>\n<p>Apple staffers are designing a system that would allow AI agents to be offered in the App Store while adhering to the company\u2019s privacy and security standards, the reports said.<\/p>\n<p>The company\u2019s annual\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.apple.com\/newsroom\/2026\/03\/apples-worldwide-developers-conference-returns-the-week-of-june-8\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Worldwide Developers Conference<\/a> that will be held in June is expected to highlight AI offerings, but it is not known if any addition of AI agents to the App Store will be announced at the event, per the report.<\/p>\n<p>Apple did not immediately reply to PYMNTS\u2019 request for comment.<\/p>\n<p>It was reported in March that Apple is centering its\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.pymnts.com\/apple\/2026\/apple-centering-ai-plans-on-app-store-and-hardware\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">AI plans<\/a>\u00a0on the App Store and hardware.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:center\">Advertisement: Scroll to Continue<\/p>\n<p>According to that report, after getting caught off guard by ChatGPT and losing AI talent to rivals, Apple\u2019s potential path to success resembles that of the one it chose for its App Store.
