Samsung have responded to the $15million lawsuit against them from Dua Lipa<\/a>, rejecting the accusations.<\/p>\n

The pop star filed the lawsuit against the electronic manufacturer earlier this month<\/a>, claiming that they used her image without permission to sell TVs.<\/p>\n

Her filing came in relation to the cardboard packaging of some of the brand\u2019s TVs sold in 2025, which she alleged used a photograph of her without paying her or seeking her permission.<\/p>\n

In the suit, her legal team claimed that she tried to get Samsung to stop using the image, but was faced with a \u201cdismissive and callous\u201d refusal from the company. They also quoted from some fan updates on X\/Twitter, where some shared how they were considering buying the television after seeing the singer\u2019s face on it.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019d get that TV just because Dua Lipa is on it,\u201d one wrote, while someone else added: \u201cI wasn\u2019t even planning on buying a tv but I saw the box so I decided to get it.\u201d<\/p>\n

Her suit alleges a copyright violation, a violation of the California right of publicity statute, a federal Lanham Act claim, and trademark claims.<\/p>\n

Now, Samsung has responded to the lawsuit and rejected the accusations from the \u2018Dance The Night\u2019 singer.<\/p>\n

Samsung has denied wrongfully using an image of Dua Lipa on their packaging, following $15 MILLION lawsuit filing:<\/p>\n

Sharing a statement, the company wrote: \u201cThe image of Dua Lipa was used in 2025 to display content from third-party partners available on Samsung TVs.<\/p>\n

\u201cOriginally, the image was provided by a content partner for the free streaming service Samsung TV Plus. It was only used after the content partner had given explicit assurances that all necessary rights had been obtained \u2013 including use on sales packaging.\u201d<\/p>\n

It added that it has \u201cgreat respect for Dua Lipa\u201d and the intellectual property of artists. It also said that it was \u201copen to a constructive solution\u201d with the singer.<\/p>\n

Dua Lipa\u2019s team have not yet publicly responded to the comments from Samsung.<\/p>\n
