In <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/jackhuynh\/status\/2054904153013387273\" rel=\"nofollow\">an announcement on X<\/a>, Jack Huynh, AMD\u2019s head of computing and graphics, says FSR 4.1 will roll out to RDNA 3 GPUs in July, followed by a launch on RDNA 2 chips in early 2027.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1ymtmqpi _17nnmdy1 _17nnmdy0 _1xwtict1\">This summer\u2019s update will allow Radeon RX 7000-series chip owners to access AMD\u2019s upscaling tech across <a href=\"https:\/\/www.amd.com\/en\/products\/graphics\/technologies\/fidelityfx\/supported-games.html\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">more than 300 supported games<\/a>, including Cyberpunk 2077, Battlefield 6, and Assassin\u2019s Creed Shadows. FSR 4.1\u2019s broader expansion next year will allow the tech to expand to more devices running RDNA 2 architecture, like the Steam Deck.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1ymtmqpi _17nnmdy1 _17nnmdy0 _1xwtict1\">AMD <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tomshardware.com\/pc-components\/gpu-drivers\/amd-releases-fsr-4-1-for-rx-9000-series-gpus-new-update-delivers-better-ray-regeneration-finer-upscaled-detail-and-higher-fps\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">launched its FSR 4.1 update<\/a> for Radeon RX 9000-series graphics cards in March. The update builds on its AI-powered upscaling tech, which is supposed to boost performance, while offering sharper visuals and smoother gameplay.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1ymtmqpi _17nnmdy1 _17nnmdy0 _1xwtict1\">Since RDNA 3 chips don\u2019t come with the hardware required to run FSR 4.1, Huynh says AMD had \u201cto carefully tune, optimize, and validate the model\u201d to get it running on older GPUs. \u201cWe tested across hundreds of PC configurations in hundreds of games to ensure visuals are sharp and everything works out of the box,\u201d Huynh says.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"AMD is bringing its FSR 4.1 upscaling tech to older graphics cards.
