Credit where credit is due to former Tipp hurler, Cathal Barrett, who has popped the question to his love, Katie O’Regan, with a beautiful ring.

Cathal made his debut for the Premier county in 2014 and has two All-Ireland medals under his belt.

And in May, the right corner back showed his followers his romantic side when he proposed in one of Ireland’s most romantic countryside spots.

It looks like Cathal got down on one knee while out for a stroll with Katie at Dog’s Bay in Connemara, County Galway.

Judging from Katie’s face, it looks like it was a complete surprise, and it seems that luck was on the side of the hurler when it came to the weather, as the sun is shining in their snaps.

One photo shows Katie and Cathal both with beaming smiles, with Katie holding up her hand to show off her new oval-shaped sparkler, which appears to be a solitaire design on a gold band.

Another shows off the ring in all its sparkling glory, with Katie holding out her hand with the sand and water in the background.

Posting the news on their social media, the couple kept the message short and sweet with just the date of the big event, ’02/05/26,’ followed by an engagement ring emoji.

We have to give Cathal the big thumbs up for picking such a classic piece… Congratulations, Katie and Cathal!

Credit where credit is due to former Tipp hurler, Cathal Barrett, who has popped the question to his…

[9
61,60,112
post-449700","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-sports","tag-ie","tag-ireland","tag-sports
["GET
