\n\tThere are some recurring characters, though no one\u2019s shadow looms quite like Kendrick Lamar\u2019s as Drake addresses the aftermath of \u201cNot Like Us.\u201d <\/a>The intense feud between the rappers burned bright<\/a> in 2024, culminating with Lamar taking the Super Bowl halftime show stage and winning five Grammy Awards for the diss track. Meanwhile, Drake took stock of the scorched bridges and betrayal, even filing a lawsuit against UMG and alleging that they had harmed his reputation through the promotion of \u201cNot Like Us.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tDrake goes in on the feud on \u201cMake Them Pay,\u201d spitting, \u201cFuck a big three anyway, there was too many chefs in the kitchen, it was a mess to begin with\/And now they got a new GOAT and we gotta test the position.\u201d (Lamar once rapped, \u201cMotherfuck the Big Three, nigga, it\u2019s just big me.\u201d) But Drake is more scathing as he turns to the alleged streaming inflation<\/a> he accused Lamar of in his lawsuit against Universal Music Group. \u201cDamn, who is this guy for real? I guess a magician,\u201d he raps. \u201cHundred million streams vanished, no one got questions for niggas.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tAnother shot is fired on \u201cJanice STFU,\u201d where Drake raps, \u201cWhite kids listen to you \u2019cause they feel some guilt and that\u2019s how your soul gets fulfilled.\u201d The rapperalso borrows a line from \u201cNot Like Us\u201d for the title of his Future and Molly Santana collaboration \u201cRan to Atlanta\u201d and defends his ties to the city, and on \u201cMake Them Cry,\u201d he addresses the feud again\u201d \u201cY\u2019all keep on asking me what it did to me, that\u2019s what it did to me,\u201d he raps. \u201cWhen I dig deep, they say dig deeper\/Tell us how it felt to meet the grim reaper.\u201d \u2014Larisha Paul<\/p>\n

\n\tIn January 2025, Drake sued UMG<\/a>, accusing the label of promoting Lamar\u2019s \u201cNot Like Us\u201d in a way that \u201cintended to convey the specific, unmistakable, and false factual allegation that Drake is a criminal pedophile.\u201d The suit notably only named the record label, not Lamar himself, who is signed to Interscope Records under the UMG umbrella. The motion called out Lucian Grainge, who has helmed Universal Music Group as chairman and CEO for the last 15 years, for publicly celebrating Lamar\u2019s Record of the Year win for \u201cNot Like Us\u201d at the Grammy Awards and alleged the CEO was critically involved in an attempt to \u201cdevalue Drake\u2019s music and brand in order to gain leverage in negotiations for an extension\u201d of his contract.<\/p>\n

\n\tPlayboi Carti catches a lyrical red dot to the forehead on \u201cWhisper My Name,\u201d a whoozy offering on Iceman that finds Drake questioning his former brodie\u2019s street cred and checking his temperature. Inspired by Carti allegedly throwing smut on his name to an unnamed third party, Drizzy coyly references a track from the Atlanta rapper\u2019s MUSIC album as a hint to the intended target, warning that all bets may be off whenever they next cross paths. \u201cBaby boy please, I heard what you said to lil bro about me,\u201d he raps. \u201cYeah, and when you run into the Iceman, what you gon\u2019 do except freeze\/ You not bout to squeeze\/ You not in the streets.\u201d \u2014Preezy Brown<\/p>\n

\t\tASAP Rocky and Rihanna\t<\/p>\n

\n\tDrake and Rihanna had some history before ASAP Rocky and Rihanna found their happily ever after with three kids, and it appears to be the continued source of tension between both rappers. ASAP Rocky explained<\/a> it in simple terms earlier this year. \u201cThis thing between us it\u2019s not real smoke, but I just don\u2019t f\u2014 with him,\u201d he said. \u201cWe was once friends. I feel like it\u2019s over females. I feel like he wasn\u2019t happy and he expressed that.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cAnd, Khaled, you know what I mean\/The beef was fully live, you went halal and got on your deen\/And your people are still waitin\u2019 for a free Palestine,\u201d Drake raps on \u201cMake Them Pay.\u201d \u201cBut apparently everything isn\u2019t black and white and red and green, damn\/I\u2019m seein\u2019 everyone\u2019s true colors, for real, I\u2019m sensin\u2019 a theme.\u201d Khaled \u2014 whose parents are Palestinian immigrants \u2014 has received intense backlash for refusing to speak on Palestine.
