Ireland could shortly be enjoying magnificent sunshine and temperatures reaching 25C as a prominent meteorologist has disclosed that a period of warm and bright weather<\/a> is on the horizon.<\/p>\n The nation has experienced somewhat soggy and overcast conditions lately, with bouts of rainfall and chillier temperatures prevailing this week.<\/p>\n Regrettably, the damp weather is expected to persist this weekend, with ‘persistent rain’ forecast to emerge in the west and progress eastwards across the nation throughout the morning and afternoon, according to Met \u00c9ireann<\/a>.<\/p>\n ‘Heavy and persistent’ downpours are predicted for Sunday, especially during the late afternoon and evening, with thunderstorms anticipated in certain locations and temperatures barely managing to reach 13C.<\/p>\n The changeable weather will carry on into the initial stages of next week before conditions are expected to shift dramatically, with a weather specialist disclosing that temperatures will soar from Thursday onwards, with the mercury predicted to rise to a pleasant 25C, reports the Irish Mirror<\/a>.<\/p>\n According to Cathal Nolan, climate scientist and founder of Ireland’s Weather Channel, following a wet beginning to the week, the warm and bright spell will commence on Thursday as high pressure develops, with next weekend poised to be scorching.<\/p>\n The favourable weather appears set to remain, with Cathal disclosing that the warm and sunny period will persist until the month’s end and potentially into early June. Delivering the brilliant forecast in a video message to his followers, he said: “We are set up for a pretty unsettled start for next week.<\/p>\n “Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday – they are all pretty unsettled days across the country. More cloud about and a chance of rain or heavy showers on each of those days and fresher southwesterly winds.<\/p>\n “The good news is that from Thursday and Friday of next week onwards, it is expected that are weather will settle down. We will see temperatures on the rise, getting up towards the 20sC, even the early-20sC or mid-20C20s possible by the end of next weekend as high pressure looks set to build in.<\/p>\n “That looks set to see us out for the month of May, perhaps even continuing on into June, which has been heralded as a drier than average month with warmer temperatures by the longer-range model, so fingers crossed that is the case.”<\/p>\n This follows recent meteorological charts indicating temperatures climbing considerably beyond earlier predictions, with certain maps displaying deep crimson hues as the mercury potentially soars towards 25C later this month.<\/p>\n Present projections indicate temperatures could hit 21C on May 21-22, climbing to 23C on May 23, before reaching a peak of 25C on May 24.
